You’re well onyour way to maintainingoverall fitness.Keep up the good work!Swimming NewsSwim team supported Cardinal Gibbons 08 high state championshipteam at the Urlando Int’l ymca pool on November 14.PJ Biondolillo, John Jessell, Michael Zislinand Matthew Zielinski all scored at the1-A Championship Meet to a 3rd place finishbehind Bolles and Pine Crest.Both Jessell’s 200 and 500 freestyleswim were All American performances whilescoring 5th and 8th. We shined in the relaypositions as Michael swam in the 200 medley(fly), 200 free and 400 free relays. PJ swambackstroke in the 200 med and joined John onthe 400 free relay as John also did the sprintfreestyle relay. Matthew, John and Michaelwere on the 200 free relay together. The 400free relay brought home the Bronze Medal.“Three out of the four guys on that relaywere ours,” said Coach Larry Blomberg. “Weset our goals high, so we expect to get theserelay positions. This meet is giving us confidenceto set some goals higher.”Another one of LPYRC’sfinest swimmer to be acknowledgedis Jackie Ring.Jackie grew up as a member ofLPYRC. Jackie is a two timemember of Boca’s 2-A Championsand one time runnerup. Congratulations Jackie!Our Pre-CompetitiveSwim Team continues to meetthrough the winter. TennisTENNIS FUNCTIONSNEED MEMBER SUPPORTTennis has two major functions duringthe tennis season. One in the Fall(Kick-Off) and one in the Spring (End ofSeason). These dates are made a year inadvanced and are in the Tennis Calendar.Members should have these dates writtenin on their personal calendars and plan toattend.The Kick-Off party was held on Friday,Nov. 7th and 94 members attended. Thisnumber should be much higher. If thecaptains and their team members withtheir spouse attended this function wewould have 100 members at the party.This would mean 120 or 130 is easilywithin reach.The success of these events dependedon member support and sometimes otherfamily obligations do make it impossibleto attend. Ten boats participated in theFleet Review which was followed bya short ceremony and buffet dinner.A few days later we had a poolsideparty attended by 139 Corinthians.November was a busy month forthe Corinthians with the Change ofWatch, a large turnout Poolside <strong>Party</strong>at the Club and a 14 boat cruise tothe New River in Ft Lauderdale.The ladies’ First Mates also had aNovember luncheon. Coming InDecember we have the annualCommodore’s Ball and the all Clubannual L.P.Y.R.C.
