Admission Requirements/Credit Transfer/Explanation of Grade Transfer:Australian/NZ universities have varying admission requirements ranging from a minimum of 2.5 GPA upwards. Most require students to hold at least sophomore status but there is some flexibility with this. All students willbe required to be in good standing at their home schools.More info at www.mystudyaustralia.com/Universities/admission.htmwww.mystudyaustralia.com/Universities/credits.htmwww.mystudyaustralia.com/Universities/gradetransfer.htmSubjects on OfferThe AEC works with a large consortium of universities that provide access to a full curriculum.Whilst obviously not every university offers every discipline, the list of universities within the consortiumprovides plenty of choice. Check out your options by:• checking the individual university profiles within this guide.• checking out the individual university profiles on the AEC web site at:www.mystudyaustralia.com/StudyinAustralia/locateaust.htmNote: the AEC provides links directly to university web sites from the AEC site.Internships with Study AbroadInternships are a great idea if you can undertake these as part of your study abroad program. Why? Simplybecause when you are on a study program with the AEC, your program fee would include medical insuranceand usually this is for the duration of the visa. Example: semester abroad students would usually receive a visafor a period of 6 weeks beyond the study period. This provides opportunity then to undertake an internshipwhilst you have a student visa with medical coverage! Our aim is to give you access to the total experience, far beyond the academic. So how does it work?Check out www.mystudyaustralia.com/Universities/intern.htmScholarships, Financial Aid and WorkFor information on the AEC scholarship program, read the information atwww.mystudyaustralia.com/Universities/scholarships.htmFor information about financial aid for study abroad read the information atwww.mystudyaustralia.com/StudyinAustralia/financial_aidconsortium_agreements.htmwww.mystudyaustralia.com/Universities/aid.htmFor information on working whilst studying read the information at5www.mystudyaustralia.com/Universities/work.htmHealth and SafetyThe well being of our students is of paramount importance to the AEC and our on the ground network ofcoordinators are there to assist in this process. Read the information atwww.mystudyaustralia.com/StudyinAustralia/health.htmMedical InsuranceAll students going on AEC semester and year abroad programs have student medical coverage for the durationof their student visas whilst in Australia and New Zealand. The Governments and universities also expect thisas part of the visa process - in other words, no insurance no visa! The AEC program fee includes medicalcoverage. You will however, need to pay some deductibles.Student VisaWe know all about visas! www.mystudyaustralia.com/AEC/service.htm#Visa_ProcessOn Arrival ServicesWe do a lot with on arrival - see separate section about orientation. Our Organization:We are an organization that has been built from the ground up by a team of dedicatedinternational education professionals who remain commited to the world of study abroad. Our Mission:We provide students with affordable opportunities to participate in culturally enriching academicexperiences in some of the safest destinations in the western hemisphere - Australia and NewZealand. We believe study abroad should be accessible to students of all socio-economicbackgrounds because it is through study abroad that our young adults will learn to interactwith the world at large, appreciate humanity’s common bonds and learn to build harmoniousand peaceful societies. The organization therefore, works hard to bring affordable programs tostudents whilst not compromising the integrity of the services on offer - a comparison of pricesand services offered by the AEC and those offered by even not-for-profi t organizations will confi rmhow serious we are about our mission!16Our History:The AEC program has been in operation for 9 years and we currently work with 30 Australianand New Zealand universities. (We are in the process of expanding our base of New Zealanduniversities.) Our people make up our history - we come to the AEC from positions in governmentand academia. Most of us have either worked at universities and colleges or at internationaleducation organizations. All of us have studied and worked in more than one country so we knowfi rst hand the value of study abroad. Given our background in internationalization, we are evenmore aware of the difference we can make to the lives of young people. This is where we beganand this is where we are today - assisting students to be better prepared through study abroad tomeet the challenges of globalization. Our Network (AEC coordinators are also available on site!)USAAUSTRALIAAustralian Education Connection (AEC)5722 South Flamingo Road #303Ft Lauderdale, Florida 33330USATelephone: 1-954-680-0453Facsimile: 1-954-680-0597Email: enquiries@mystudyaustralia.comWeb Site: www.mystudyaustralia.comAustralian Education Connection (AEC)Unit 5, 2 Montford CrescentLyneham, ACT 2602 (Canberra) AustraliaMailing Address: GPO Box 1424Canberra City, ACT 2601, AustraliaTelephone: 61-2-62487110Facsimile: 61-2-62487190Email: canberra@mystudyaustralia.comSTUDENT HOT LINE: 1-800-565-9553www.mystudyaustralia.comwww.mystudynewzealand.comKandream +61 2 6230 4123
