Dudley rail on the Ontario Line(milled using the open hearth process in the early 1900s)Because this rolling process was utilized, the rail has internal impurities,including slag, air pockets, and so on which makes the rail prone to breakswhen heavy lateral forces are imposed; heavy cars like the ones proposedto transport the spent fuel rods could have an adverse effect on this sizerail.

PS rail on the Sodus Bay LineA series of S-curves between the CSX interchange and MP 18.0 on theSodus Bay Line have sharp curves of 10, 11, 12, and 13 degrees. A curvegreater than 8 degrees may limit the type of rolling stock able tonegotiate over them. A rigid frame triple axle truck could easily derailtrying to negotiate these curves.

§. 72.Zdravý kůň léků dostati nemá; neboť lékové tělo nemocné mění; jestliže tělo nemocnénení, tedy mění zdravé, tj.: činí jej nemocné. To též působí pouštění krví. Zdravému hovadupustiti jest věc zbytečná a škodlivá. S ubráním krve, ubereš i síly (živosti), a pročež jenv rozhorčení krve, v zápalu a v krevnatosti pustiti přísluší. Když po dobrém rozmyšlenízapotřebí uznáš pouštěti, pusť, neohlídaje se na předsudný pašijový týden, ani na S. Štěpána,nai na sudní neb lichní čas měsíce. Když kůň dobře živený, krevnatý jest, raději jemu uberobroku, a pracuj s ním.§. 73.Krve ubrati dvojí jest obyčej: 1. Sekání, (Scarrificiren) (zřezati, skrájeti;) když povrchnévřezání se koná, aby jen místně krvácelo, jakož se obyčejně koná u zevnitřního místovéhozápalu nožíkem ostrým.§. 74.2. Zatětím žíly, totiž, když průduch krvi za žíly, obyčejně z krevní, se učiní. Nejpříhodnějšíjest žíla hrdelní v každé potřebě, z které pojednou určitou hojnost krve pustíš, 4 – 5 liber,někdy pak v velmi palčivé nemoci, neb v velkém zápalu, i 8 – 10 liber. Jindá, a to dostinebezpečně, žílu na škráni sekali, u bolení očí, a jankoví; u dny střevní žílu ostružní; uvyplecení na ohbu nohy přední; na ocase, když bedra nemocná byla; u vytknutí spěnačkystranovniví aneb střemeními žilami pod kotníkem pouštěti a. t. d. Napřed žílu stlačiti slušíprstem neb okrajkem, aby se naplnila; potom pilně prohledej, aby srdečnici neranil, kteroužtobě její klepání vyjeví. Nástroj jest pušťadlo, kteréž buď na místo určité zasadíš, klepna naňdřevem neb násadou kladívka; aneb pušťadlo obyčejné k sekání perem, málo větší nežli učlověka, kteréž mnohem jistější jest. Před a po puštění nech hovado za několik hodin státi.§. 75.Jestliže dle úkazu kořen (Stecken der Wurzel) kejchavky (čemeřice) uvleci máš, tedy to čiňtímto způsobem: propíchna kůži na palec vzdáli od sebe, uvleč šištičku kořene řečeného,vlasinou otočeného, tak aby oba konce viděti bylo.§. 76.Kůži (kruh, kroužek) (Stecken des Leders) pak uložíš takto: vezma kus kůže podešvové,jako tážový tolar veliký, vyřež vprostřed díru; věneček ten neb kroužek obal koudelí, a mastíostrou k. p. terpentinem jej natra, vetkej pod kůži odloupenou, mezi předními stehny naprsích, a každodenně prstem v díru uvedeným otáčej.§. 77.Když chceš žíni neb séto (Eiterband) táhnouti, tedy učiň na určitém místě dvě rány, napalec dlouhé a od sebe vzdálené na píď (5 – 6 coulů), a uvleč pod kůži jehlou k tomuvyhotovenou, na prst tlustou dlouhou žíni, totiž provázek, buď z příze vlněné samotné, anebs vlasinami zmichanými; na obojím konci udělej uzel, a žíni na každý den jednou sem a tamprotahuj, neb ní pohybuj. Však pozor dej, ať kůň ji nevysouká, aneb ránu neodře. Necháš žínivězeti 10 – 14 dní dlouho, řídko déle, toliko u počasné nemoci, jako u zžidnutí, 3 – 4 neděle.
