is a base coat based on unsaturated
polyester, which combines high solids
content with low emission.
The uniqueness of this product is the
absence of styrene. Here, we have not
replaced the reacting styrene by solvents,
which is made with the currently
offered “styrene-free” products on the
market.

Desert mouse-team
participated successfully
in the "Allgäu-Orient
rally"
One of the last automobile adventures
of the world started on 2nd May, 2008.
The team consisted of two women and
two men. Only vehicles may participate,
which are street-legal and at least 20
years old.
Of course, the cars had to arrive safely
in Jordan. There, they were auctioned
together with other 140 cars.
The whole proceeding was given to the
German aid organization “Welthungerhilfe”.

On their trip they have travelled
through 11 countries and covered a
distance of 5000 kilometres in 10 days!
Though the four desert mice did not
win first prize, a camel, but anyhow
they arrived fourth! Congratulations!
We were happy to help them!
Visitors from Moscow
In March, we invited some staff members
of the company TBM to a training
of the company DataColor. In order
to pass on immediately an optimum
benefit, the software has been installed
on their own notebooks.
The training was made in theory and
was of course also practically oriented.
Locally in Russia, colour formulas and
stain adjustments according to colour
cards or individual customers’ wishes
shall be provided to the customers
with the help of DataColor.
Vaibhav and Ashu from India,
two students of the wood surface
technology have done a 4 week
internship with us.
They were familiarized not only with
our products, but also gained an insight
in the modern surface technology.
We wish them all the best and a lot of
success for their professional career.
Milano with slight
colour spot
However there was no
festival of colours on the
„Salone“.
For six days, Milano presented itself
as the hub of the furniture world.
According to the fair organizer
Cosmit, 348.000 visitors flocked in
the „Salone Internazionale del
Mobile“ on the new fairground in
Rho. So, there were 29 % more
visitors than last year.
Cosmit was meticulous about the
fair remaining to be Italianate,
although also a number of German
manufacturers could establish
themselves in the meantime.

Drema fair 2008
from April 1-4, 2008
For the second time we presented
ourselves under own flag on the
Drema fair in Poland.
Apart from modern Hydro-lacquer
systems on most different kinds of timber,
glass and effect-lacquers have been the
highlights of our exhibition stand.
We were pleased with the many visitors
on this exhibition.
We have had many interesting discussions
during these 4 days of exhibition.
Thanks a lot for visiting us.
Perhaps we’ll meet again in 2009?
New partner in Indonesia

Starting January 2008, PT Propan Raya
ICC – market leader of wood coatings
in Indonesia - has signed a license
agreement with Hesse-Lignal.
The agreement involved the jointly
marketing of UV-coatings for the
parquet floorings in Indonesia und
South East Asia.
Through this agreement, Hesse and
Propan Raya entered business
cooperation, in order to profit from
and implement their experiences in the
parquet industry. This cooperation also
includes the jointly development of
quality products for parquet flooring
customers.

In March 2008, Mr. Ingo Ströbel and
Mr. P. Vanneste congratulated the
family Boussé on the opening of their
new and enlarged showroom.
On approx. 600 square meters (plus
approx. 900 square meters of warehouse)
exclusively Hesse-products are
sold there.
Since 1990, the company Boussé-
Govaerts is acting as Hesse-retailer
in Belgium for the regions of Antwerp,
Limburg and Vlaams Brabant and
distributes there exclusively the
complete range of Hesse-products
(lacquers, stains, oils and parquet
lacquers) to small and medium-size
enterprises.
Propan Raya is the only producer of
UV coatings in Indonesia, well equipped
with laboratory and production
facilities.
Propan Raya was established in 1979.
Total production 2007 has reached
33.000 t/month.
Since 1993 Propan Raya has
expanded their range by UV-coatings
for furniture and parquet flooring.
Fast supply, colour tone adjustments,
problem solutions and technical
support are a matter of course.

group established the present company
"Meubellakken Service Center b.v.b.a“
and is working with a staff of 7 people
plus 2 field representatives on the service
of the company Hesse.
In an own laboratory, equipped
with colour mixing machine and
DataColor measuring instrument,
lacquers and stains are made
according to customer's wishes.
At this point we wish continuing
success and good business!

Together with our retailer Luijten/VVZ
from Dordrecht we exhibited on the
Interieur fair. It was a home match for
our retailer.
The common fair performance,
equipped with modern lacquer systems
as well as unusual effect lacquercreations,
found very great approval
with our customers.
We are already looking forward to the
next fair date: Holzmesse 2008 from
Sept. 29 to Oct. 3, 2008 at Ahoy in
Rotterdam
International Furniture Forum.

It was the aim of this event to win
furniture manufacturers and important
suppliers as exhibitors.
Our Ukrainian sales partner Atlanta
North represented the products of
the company Hesse-Lignal on his
self-designed stand.
This exhibition stand, equipped with
modern lacquer systems on the most
different kinds of wood as well as
unusual effect lacquer creations, did
not only prove popular with the guests,
but also with the fair organizers.
A jury honoured this performance
with the desired “Exhibition-Award“.

The Tai Lee Hong HK Trading Company
started the cooperation with Hesse in the eighties.
The main operational areas were
nitrocellulose lacquers for furniture
and the piano industry.
After more than 20 years of
cooperation Tai Lee Hong could
establish Hesse-Lignal to a well
known trade mark in Hong Kong.
At the moment more than 100
sales bases exist in Hong Hong
and Guang-Dong.
With regard to the VOC-regulation
of the Hong Kong government, which
was introduced in 2007, Tai Lee
Hong is currently striving to establish
waterbased lacquers on the market.

General hints for processing of UPE-materials:
Never mix promoter/accelerator and
crosslinker/hardener directly with each
other > Explosion hazard!
Coating materials, which produce heat
when drying (UPW-materials) and
coating materials, which form highly
flammable sediments, must not be
applied at the same spray booth,
because of self-ignition risk (see BGR
500 chapter 3 “Processing of different
coating materials“).
Due to their short potlife, UPE-lacquers
should be applied either by cup gun or
with 2C/3C-Spray devices.
Clean the devices immediately after use
with suitable solvents. Residues, which
are mixed with hardener/crosslinker may
warm up strongly depending on the
quantity and must be put under water.
Duly dispose after finished reaction and
cooling, only.
Wood ingredients, mainly from
tropical- and root timbers interfere with
the drying process (polymerization) of
UPE-lacquers. These kinds of wood
must be pre-treated with PUR-Isolating
primer. Depending on the growing
region, the ingredients of the wood
may be different; therefore the required
film thickness of the isolating coat must
always be determined by a test coating.

Parquet Coatings
The Hesse Parquet system, which was
successfully introduced years ago, got
a relaunch especially in the Belgium
and Dutch markets. Our products were
adapted to the individual requirements
and adjusted on country-specific
distinctions.
The result was an ultramodern range
of innovative parquet lacquers, which
hardly leaves wishes for the user.
P-Group
All around the further development
of our parquet system, we have
established a separate work team.
The parquet or P-Group consists of
colleagues from the Hesse Center in
Belgium www.hesse-lignal.de/parquet
and some people from the parent plant
in Hamm. Department-overlapping,
topics like product development,
packaging, pricing, auxiliary means
and marketing are defined.
Regular meetings of the P-Group
guarantee a directed work-off of
the open projects.
Anita Verhaegen
The team all around the Hesse parquet
system was extended personnel-wise,
as well. Beginning of this year, Anita
Verhaegen, so far Belgian sales manager
of an international parquet lacquer
manufacturer changed into our Hesse-
Center in Belgium.
With her longstanding experience,
especially in the field of parquet finish,
Mrs. Verhaegen will give important
advices and tips for the development
of our parquet system.
Europarkett Kortrijk
The Europarkett fair in
Kortrijk/Belgium is the
most important parquet
fair in the region of
Belgium and the
Netherlands.
Gladly we used this platform, in order
to present our updated parquet range
to the interested guests.
The focus of the presentation lay in the
sector of the parquet stains and the
new Hesse parquet lacquer called Pura
Natura.
