The meltingand pouring temperature advised is 160℃and the melted material may be maintained at150÷170 °C for maximum 6÷8 hours. To avoidthe gelatinization of the melted mastic, whichwould make it useless, the temperature of 180℃must not be exceeded; it may be maintainedat this temperature for a maximum of 2 hours.Considering that the mastic has a volume mass(density) of about 1 kg/dm 3 and that it does notcontain volatile parts, 0.1 kg per metre of lengthis used to seal a crack of 1 cm² of section.R6 th DIVISION
