OUTGOING PRESIDENT JIMMY HESTER(20052006)Jimmy Hester is the outgoing president of Southeast IAATI and we would like to take this opportunity to expressour appreciation to him for all of his hard work last year and his continued dedication to the goals and objectivesof our organization.Jimmy retired as Special Agent in Charge, Region III for the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Criminal InvestigationsDivision. He is currently employed as the Tennessee Law Enforcement Liaison for LoJack.Recognition CornerWe would like to say a special thank you to Ronnie Dean, for being the On Site Coordinator for the 2006Wilmington Conference. Being the On Site Coordinator is a tremendous task under normal circumstances but inRonnie’s case, it became even more stressful. Normally, the Coordinator has a committee consisting of severaldifferent subcommittees who handle a specific function. However, after presenting his proposal at the 2005Conference and it being accepted, all of the personnel who were to act as the On Site Committee evaporated, leaving Ronnie acting not only as the On Site Coordinator but also the On Site Committee, Sub Committees, and everything in between. In addition to all of these duties, he somehow was able to perform his elected duties as Treasurer for theSoutheast Chapter. It took a lot of constitution to keep things going and not just throwing in the towel, butRonnie faced this challenge with the same attitude and vigor as he has all of the other duties that have beenasked of him throughout his association with the Southeast Chapter. The conference turned out great andRonnie should be commended for doing such a fine job under such adverse conditions. We would also like to thank NICB for allowing Ronnie time to put the conference together and bringing all theloose ends into one cohesive form that produced such a fine conference. Without the support of our employers, none of us could attend or dedicate the time required to make the Southeast Chapter what it is today, but in thiscase NICB went above the normal call of duty. Thanks to Ronnie and NICB from the President, Executive Board, and membership of the Southeast Chapter.CongratulationsThe 54 th Annual IAATI Conference was held August 611, 2006 in Winnipeg Manitoba, Canada. Two membersand current Board members of the Southeast Chapter attended and were appointed to the 20062207 board ofthe International Association of Auto Theft Investigators. McDonold of Baltimore Co (MD) PoliceDepartment was appointed as 4 th Vice President and George “Charlie” Worsham of the National InsuranceCrime Bureau of Watkinsville George was appointed as a director. As a result of his retirement, Don will no longer be able to attend the AnnualTraining Seminars.Throughout the years, Don has been a faithful member and supporter of the Southeast Chapter, attending everyAnnual Conference.
