THE YEAR OF THE
DRAGON
It was a year to remember. Both the men’s and women’s soccer
teams and the men’s and women’s basketball teams captured North
Coast Section championships in February.
It was the first time in school history that all
four winter sports teams captured NCS titles.
For the women’s basketball team it was a
fourth consecutive NCS crown and
second consecutive NorCal title.
And, much to the delight of Dragon fans, the women’s team
captured the program’s first state championship, defeating Laguna
Hills, 62-24, to win the California Interscholastic Federation Division
III title. O’Dowd forced 26 turnovers and limited the opponent to
the lowest point total in state title-game history.
All Dragon players scored in the winning effort.

KC Waters '13 scored a game high 14 points
and grabbed 12 rebounds in just 20 minutes of
action in the state final and received the sportmanship
award. She was also named the CIF
Division III Women's Player of the Year.
