<strong>MHMDS</strong> – Key features of the dataset• Record level data submitted by 75 specialistmental health service providers, including smallnumber ISPs• Information from PAS systems, CPA systems,Mental <strong>Health</strong> Act systems• Reflects very different packages of care• Record covers that part of a care spell that tookplace within the reporting period (e.g. Quarter 42010/11 covers Jan- March 2011)• Very rich in demographic detail and service inputs(bed days, contacts), but, until now, nocomprehensive diagnosis or treatments• Version 3 flowed as flat file, one row per patientrecord, with many derived, aggregate counts

Did you know…Commissioners could be using now…• Commissioner level data extracts – available onrequest• NHS commissioner level annual data tables, eg• rates of access to services per 100,000population• rates of access to inpatient care, per 100service users• Annual data.gov file, by provider, by commissioneractivity counts
