Youwill agree it’s been like a country club environment. For this summer, weadded beautiful, new blue windbreakers surrounding the pool areas. Weplaced new plants in planters, which enhanced the tropical atmosphere. Weadded two cabanas, which were used frequently and appreciated by thehomeowners and their guests. The filters in the Jacuzzis and swimming poolswere changed on schedule, thereby maintaining clarity and cleanliness ofthe water. Next summer will be even better, as we will budget for twoadditional cabanas, as requested, for the convenience of you and yourguests.Fitness Center RemodelNow that fall is upon us, we have made plans to complete theremodeling of the men’s and women’s fitness center. The demolition andconstruction should start within the first week of October. Please be patient,as the renovation of the fitness center is estimated to take approximately twomonths. The Jacuzzis, showers, sauna, and men’s and women’s bathrooms will notbe available for use during construction. The down-time and waiting will beworth it! When this project is finished, you will have the installation of newJacuzzis, showers, saunas, mirrors, sinks and toilets. The ceiling and walls of thesauna will be constructed of Aspen wood, which is very beautiful. The countertops will be laminated with granite. Some of the flooring will be carpeting andKeystone Mosaic color body porcelain tile. The walls will be covered withMatte Almond Wall Tile. The floor base will be covered with Matte AlmondCove Tile. The ceilings will be covered with Matte Tile also. Once the men’sand women’s fitness center has been completed, you will agree that it will bea major improvement for us here at the Marina City Club. We can look for,and expect, an increase in our membership – that’s always a good thing.Warning! Warning! IMember Highlight:Wayne Pridgenn the beginning of the year Wayne took on theGet Serious Training Formula Challenge totransform his body to a stronger, healthier version ofhimself. His success came from his dedication tomake specific changes in his eating plan as well ashis determination to maintain a consistent andbalanced workout routine. Like anything, this was anadjustment that took time to put into place. Waynehad to rethink how and what to eat so as to fuel hisbody to a more efficient fat burning machine. Healso had to allot time for himself to work out 3 timesa week. Now that Wayne truly understands theprogram he is able to put meals and workoutstogether more easily and his results are the ultimateproof that it can be done.Wayne is a busy person just like yourself. Workand family obligations consume our time and seemto take away the time available for taking care ofourselves. But with a proper nutrition and exerciseprogram designed just for you, you can hone in onSusan Stohrer, Fitness Directorwhat you need to do for you to succeed. Waynedoes 30 minutes of cardio and 15 minutes offlexibility, 3 times a week. He also implements a 45minute strength program 3 times a week. The addedcomponent which has allowed him to reach hiscurrent physique is the addition of his nutrition planwhich many of us neglect. Wayne regularly eats[yes, I said regularly], he doesn’t skip meals. He iseating a balance percentage of protein, carbohydrates and fat [yes, I said fat – he just makessure they are the healthier fat options], every 3 – 4hours to maintain a consistent blood sugar level andultimately a balanced energy level. With the guidance, motivation, superiorknowledge and genuine concern of his trainer(Tyrone Perkins, certified strength and nutritionspecialist) Wayne is now in his best physicalconditioning since his military days back at bootcamp. Congratulations Wayne on your amazingtransformation! You are an inspiration to us all!BeforeAfter6
