EXHIBITOR INVITATION
20 – 22 MARCH 2013 // MESSE STUTTGART
Biggest regional trade fair
for the electrical sector
17th trade fair for
electrical engineering
and electronics

2 – 3
The biggest regional trade fair
for the electrical sector
The visitor numbers in 2011 confirmed it: eltefa is
the biggest trade fair for for the region. Furthermore
this successful event is characterised by:
a truly unique mix of trades, industry, retail,
architects and specialist planners.
Accompanied by the megatrend of re-localisation,
for example with local energy networks and local
energy generators, and with regard to the economic
environment, an innovative, dynamic event
awaits you in 2013. In addition there is the advantageous
location: The Mid-Neckar region is
the most important industrial location in Germany.
Not only thanks to the world-famous corporations
eltefa 2011,
around 22,000 specialist visitors, of which
48 % trades
29 % industry
17 % service providers, specialist planners
10 % retail
such as Daimler, Porsche, Bosch or IBM, but above
all also the many medium-sized companies that
are leaders in their fields, such as Trumpf, Festo,
Stihl, Dürr and Kärcher. Over half of the German
gross value added is generated within a 200-km
radius of Stuttgart.
Without question: At eltefa 2013 you will be
presenting yourself at an innovative and dynamic
trade fair that provides great impetus
to the sector.
Highly
satisfied exhibitors
97 % praise the quality of visitors
94 % were very satisfied
78 % will come again
André Gerlach, Educational initiative of the networking industry (BdNI):
“We were in charge of the IT infrastructure theme island. An area that is becoming increasingly important, as was
again confirmed at the trade fair. For the visitors it is an advantage if they can obtain concentrated information on
each topic. The theme mix is a special feature of eltefa, which in addition to the classic target groups, attracts more
and more architects and planners, as there is also a special programme for them. At the same time, eltefa is developing
into a home for IT in the electrical trades.”
The trade fair and congress centre are optimally located
on the A8 (east-west) and the A81 (north-south) motorways.

Building engineering
attracts visitors
The most popular exhibition area at eltefa is
‘Building engineering’ which focuses on the areas
of electrical installation technology, systems
engineering for buildings and communication
technology. All of these areas will be affected by
the planned changes to the power supply. One of
the greatest challenges they will face is the decentralisation
of the electricity network.
The great interest shown by the eltefa visitors include
the topics of “hightech in the modern house”
and “systems for house and building automation”,
this remains unchanged. However, “smart building
engineering” and “smart metering” are growing
in importance. After all, smart metering is a first
step to increased energy efficiency, which means
lower energy and operating costs, time savings,
flexibility and adaptability. In future all of these
benefits will be demanded by your customers. Are
you prepared yet?
As a provider of innovative solutions, you are
perfectly placed in the field of building engineering.
Innovative technologies and solutions for an exemplary smart house of the future
will be demonstrated by our promotional and technical supporter, the Baden-Württemberg
Trade Association for Electrical Engineering and Information Technology
(FV-EIT-BW) in its e-house special show. The themes range from LED technology,
automatic comfort control systems and safety technology, to electric mobility.
Giorgio Assenza, Corporate Communications, South-West Region, Siemens AG:
“The quality of eltefa 2011 and its specialist visitors was very good. Compliments
to the trade fair organisers. Energy efficiency in all its complexity, not just restricted
to one building, was a major attraction for the visitors. Another topic that met with
great interest was electric mobility, which is becoming increasingly important for
building engineering.”

6 – 7
Important forum for lighting systems,
electrical engineering and suppliers
The topic of lighting systems has secured an important place at eltefa. In fact, at 40% it
even takes 2nd place in the visitors’ interest. The most important topics are still the commercial
use of light at the workplace and in public areas. LED technology is the main focus here. As
an exhibitor, eltefa is an important trade fair, for every year in which there is no “light+building”, it is the
forum for the presentation of lighting systems with excellent opportunities to do business and engage
with your target group.
Thomas Kretzer, Managing Director at TRILUX Sales:
“We are at eltefa because here we can find the core target groups we need for our business.
These are electrical planners, installers and, of course, the planners in local building
authorities. All the multiplicators we need for our light business are gathered at this one
location.”

Mauro Ercoli, Sales Department, Tesar, Arezzo/Italy:
“Medium voltage from 10,000 volts is our area of expertise. Our customers therefore
include municipal utilities and energy providers, many of whom attended the trade fair. We
made some interesting new contacts, resulting in a great number of leads. We are looking
to generating some good post-trade-fair business.””
Without electrical engineering, literally nothing works. That’s why this sector takes the central position
within the electrical industry and much more: the cross-application technology overlaps with all the exhibition
areas. At eltefa, it covers all industrial applications. In addition to smart grids, the focus is on the
smart energy supply systems of tomorrow, automation technology and electric drive technology.
The suppliers of electrical components play a major role in cost efficiency and energy savings with the
rapid delivery of spare parts in order to ensure plant availability. In this respect, they overlap with maintenance,
which is a major factor for all operators of machinery and plants. This is also confirmed by the
visitor statistics for eltefa: 25 per cent come from the area of “maintenance”, which makes them the
largest visitor group. Solutions for providing reliable maintenance are in demand.
Setting standards: IT communication,
structure, security and industrial IT
The need for comfort, security, networked communication
and economy is increasing. We need
to be informed about everything happening in
the company as fast as possible. With this in mind,
the reliability and security of IT are of the greatest
importance. In particular the security of the IT
infrastructure is developing to become a decisive
economic factor. In Stuttgart, eltefa is going a
step further by introducing property and buildings
“Our participation at the trade fair was very much worthwhile. We had
as many visitors at our stand as at the last trade fair. However the
quality of the visitors was higher, as compared with the previous year
there was a considerable increase in clear intentions to invest.”

Green energy –
at home in Stuttgart
The state of Baden-Württemberg is considered to
be the model for a future-oriented energy supply.
Not only do renewable energy sources play
an increasingly important role in the generation of
electricity here, but this will be a theme in all the
halls at eltefa 2013. Under the heading “Green
Energy”, the biggest trade fair for the electrical
sector will be dedicated to present future challenges.
The following themes will be included:
> Use of renewable energy in private homes,
commerce and industry
> Energy efficiency in the home and in commerce
through modernisation of lighting systems,
reduced consumption, building automation
and smart power networks
> Promotion of electric mobility, among other
things by means of a tight network of charging
stations
In Stuttgart “Green” means smart: the smart generation
of renewable energy on the rooftop (soon
also in the cellar), and from there into the power
grid. For this purpose, smart grids are needed, i.e.
broadband cables to the remotest village, as well
as the provision of charging stations for electricpowered
cars.
As an exhibitor, in the “green” area at eltefa,
you can perform pioneering work and open the
gate to the future yourself.
Robert Zewald, Nedap Light Controls, Groenlo/Netherlands: “We were represented in the area of lighting systems
for the first time at eltefa. Our innovation was a dimmable electronic ballast for 250- to 2000-watt hall reflector
lights. This wireless lighting technology with management software provides greater light output and up to 65 per
cent energy savings. Above all this made a very good impression on light planners, architects and wholesalers visiting
our trade fair stand. We were therefore very satisfied with our experience at eltefa and will take part again in 2013.”
