About the AuthorsEric Rosenbach is Director of the National Security Project, Belfer Centerfor Science and International Affairs at the Harvard Kennedy School. Rosenbachteaches courses at the Kennedy School on counterterrorism policy andinternational affairs. He previously served as a professional staff memberon the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and as the national securityadvisor for U.S. Senator Chuck Hagel. On the SSCI, Rosenbach providedoversight of the intelligence community’s counterterrorism efforts and authoredtwo formal investigations of prewar intelligence on Iraq. As a captainin the U.S. Army, Rosenbach was awarded the Meritorious Service Medalfor his leadership as a unit commander. The Director of Central Intelligencenamed his unit the top intelligence organization in the U.S. military for twoconsecutive years. Rosenbach has co-authored books on military leadership,intelligence and counterterrorism policy. Rosenbach was a Fulbright Scholarin Eastern Europe. He completed a JD at Georgetown, an MPP at the HarvardKennedy School and a BA at Davidson College.Aki J. Peritz is a former Fellow with the Belfer Center for Science and InternationalAffairs at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Most recently,he authored the Belfer Center case study A.Q. Khan, Nuclear Proliferation andthe US Response, and co-authored the book Confrontation or Collaboration?Congress and the Intelligence Community with Eric Rosenbach.He lives in the Washington DC area.James J. Saulino is a joint-degree student at Harvard Law School and the HarvardKennedy School, and a Fellow with the Truman National Security Project.He holds an A.B. from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School ofPublic and International Affairs.Robert Williams is a 2010 graduate of Harvard Law School, where he servedas Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard National Security Journal and Director ofthe Harvard National Security Research Committee.Ivana Deyrup is a third year student at Harvard Law School.
