624 th Annual CHAP <strong>Homeschool</strong> <strong>Convention</strong>May 7– 8, 2010—Friday, 9:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.; Friday, free session at 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.; Saturday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.Additional <strong>Convention</strong> Exit: Once you have your wristband on, youmay use the Northwest doors, located near EH2, to exit the buildingdirectly to the parking lot. You may also re-enter at these doors if youhave your wristband on.Solicitation Prohibited: No solicitation or distribution <strong>of</strong> material,polling, or interviewing is permitted at the Farm Show Complex indoorsor in the parking area during the CHAP <strong>Homeschool</strong> <strong>Convention</strong>.Violators will be prosecuted and asked to leave the convention.CHAP Magazine: The CHAP Magazine, formerly known as theCHAP Newsletter and formerly mailed to convention attendees, is undergoinga transformation to better minister to the homeschoolers <strong>of</strong>Pennsylvania. The CHAP Magazine will be mailed quarterly to homeschoolingfamilies across Pennsylvania who are members <strong>of</strong> CHAP.It contains encouragement and information on events and issues pertinentto home educators including articles <strong>of</strong> encouragement, academicitems for sale, etc. Please see the CHAP membership informationinside the front cover. If you do not receive an issue, please contact theCHAP <strong>of</strong>fice. Issues are mailed mid-summer, mid-fall, mid-winter,and mid-spring. Non-members may subscribe to the magazine for theyearly subscription rate <strong>of</strong> $10.Visiting Legislators, Candidates, and Public Officials: These publicservants are invited to attend the CHAP <strong>Convention</strong> as our guests.CHAP does not endorse any candidates for <strong>of</strong>fice but instead usestheir attendance at the CHAP <strong>Convention</strong> to acquaint them with homeeducation as a successful, proven educational choice. Feel free to introduceyourselves to them and ask them questions! Candidates arenot authorized to make the CHAP <strong>Convention</strong> a time for general solicitationsor distributing campaign material. Stop by the CHAP booth(#109 in the exhibit hall) to register for the Town Hallmeeting and dessert.The CHAP <strong>Convention</strong> needs you to volunteer. We require manyvolunteers to run the convention. We desire and need your help tomake the convention a success. The benefits <strong>of</strong> volunteering include:• An opportunity to serve fellow homeschoolers.• Registration rebate equal to the registration <strong>of</strong> each volunteer.• Early bird shopping 8:00 – 9:30 a.m. on Friday. (Imagin thechance to shop with only three hundred other people.)• Online orientation, so no early morning orientationmeeting to attend.In order to volunteer, you must go to our website:www.CHAPonline.com. Volunteering can only take place online.Do not mail in the registration if you are volunteering. You mustregister online.
