The following courses at <strong>Saint</strong> <strong>Paul</strong> <strong>College</strong>, when taken within the last 5 years, will exempt a student fromtaking the math placement exam.MATH 1730, 1760, 2751 or 2752Effective Writing – Successful completion of ENGL 1711 at <strong>Saint</strong> <strong>Paul</strong> <strong>College</strong> will fulfill this requirement.Modern Language – Students must study a modern language through at least level two (e.g. Beginning French I & II). Transfer Policies and Credit Information<strong>Augsburg</strong> accepts transfer courses from regionally accredited institutions which are at the college level, relevant to a liberal artscurriculum and graded C or better. Liberal arts courses are defined as courses similar in nature, content, and level to those offered at<strong>Augsburg</strong>. <strong>Augsburg</strong> does not grant transfer credit for developmental-remedial courses, vocational-technical courses, or continuing educationunits (CEUs). Competency credits and exam credits issued by another institution may and will be evaluated on an individual basis.<strong>Augsburg</strong> operates on a course credit system, rather than semester or quarter hours. One <strong>Augsburg</strong> course credit is equivalent to foursemester hours. A maximum of 64 semester hours (16 <strong>Augsburg</strong> course credits) may be transferred from 2-year institutions. Coursestaken beyond the credit limit however can be used to meet liberal arts and major requirements.MnSCU Transfer Students Beginning Classes at <strong>Augsburg</strong> in January 2010 or later(New policy approved October 2009)Completion of the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC) with a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher will satisfy<strong>Augsburg</strong>’s Liberal Arts Foundation requirements (8 courses) and will reduce the Search for Meaning requirement to one course (REL300). Student will be granted credit for transferable courses graded C or better.Completion of the Associate of Arts degree with the MnTC and a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher will satisfy<strong>Augsburg</strong>’s eight Liberal Arts Foundation requirements, will reduce the Search for Meaning requirement to one course (REL 300) andwill waive one of two Lifetime Fitness requirements.
