Approved.Deployed.The <strong>MALC</strong> is a full-featured Broadband Loop Carrier (BLC) optimized fordelivering voice, data, and video services over a pure packet accessnetwork. <strong>MALC</strong> gives carriers the flexibility to cost-effectively delivertriple play services over existing facilities. The <strong>ADSL</strong>2+ line cards for the<strong>MALC</strong> are high density modules that provide very high speedasymmetrical bandwidth for the <strong>MALC</strong> 319/719 and <strong>MALC</strong> 723 Chassis.<strong>Zhone</strong>'s <strong>ADSL</strong>2+ line cards for the <strong>MALC</strong> have <strong>48</strong> ports providing<strong>ADSL</strong>2+ speeds which include the ability for higher upstream speeds (upto 3Mbps) using Annex M. The <strong>ADSL</strong>2+ line cards also providebackwards interoperability with standard <strong>ADSL</strong>2, or <strong>ADSL</strong> modems,preserving previous investments in those technologies. The <strong>ADSL</strong>2+ linecards also support an optional integrated POTS splitter to reduce centraloffice cost, installation and cabling.In addition to standards-based <strong>ADSL</strong>2+ the line cards also support loopdiagnostic capability via SELT (Single Ended Loop Test) and DELT (DualEnded Loop Test), as well as <strong>Zhone</strong>'s Multimedia Traffic Management(MTM) feature set, which includes packet QOS and rate limiting, trafficsteering, and advanced packet filtering.
