My role is so varied and that isone of the exciting things about the job. I am the Public AffairsManager for the Renewables Development Team. Thatbasically means I talk to all the stakeholders who have aninterest in our offshore and onshore developments. It is myrole to get them comfortable with the work we are planning todo and hopefully win their support. The most exciting thingabout working for a company like Centrica and particularly withmy role is actually being able to make a real difference. TheEnergy industry is a real mystery to most people and yet itplays such an important part in all of our daily lives. It is reallysatisfying to change opinions by helping people understandexactly what we are about. In some cases, we can turn peoplefrom being against projects to actually supporting them. Thatgives me a real sense of satisfaction.It is a very good company to work for. I am a family man and Ihave children, so I come to work to make a living at the end ofa day. But there are the personal benefits. The salary and theconditions are very good. Centrica is a good company forlooking after its employees because they realise that satisfiedemployees want to work hard and can make a real difference.So it is a very good company to work for from that point ofview.This company has got a tremendous responsibility as we are aleading energy company. The energy industry is right at thetop of the political agenda now and energy plays an important

part in all of our lives so it has never been more important thanit is now.If anybody was thinking about joining the company, I wouldsay, go for it. It is a tremendous company to work for. If I wasstarting my career all over again, I wouldn’t hesitate to join acompany like Centrica.End
