Celebrity Waiters DinnerWhat a night!The annual Celebrity Waiters Lunch was transformed intothe Celebrity Waiters Dinner at the Hilton New OrleansAirport Hotel in mid-April. With a sold-out group of 36tables and 360+ guests, the dinner was a total success. The venue sparkled, thanks to Mr. andMrs. Randy Gervais and Royal Productions. A long list of silent and verbal items were availableas well as a parade of prizes, 50/50 chances, and a 10-restaurant package.The highlight of the night came when auctioneer Chuck Mutz officiated at a bidding war forfootball state championship merchandise between Dominick Impastato, ’97, and Lionel Smith,’87. Mutz managed to get two sets of the merchandise so both alums purchased their items withidentical $13,000 bids each. Again this year, the evening’s top waiter was First NBC’s AshtonRyan. A spirited Doug Mouton, WWL-TV sports director, was emcee for the evening. The 2013Celebrity Waiters Dinner was chaired by faculty member and parent Ms. Charlene Wetzel.Next year’s Celebrity Waiters Dinner is scheduled for Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the AirportHilton Hotel.High bidder Dominick Impastato, ‘97 High bidder Lionel Smith, ‘87
