A total amount of £10,600 was raised for theHospice during the Mayor’s term.CARER’S WEEKThe Mayor of Milton Keynes, Cllr Debbie Brock, visitedWillen Hospice on their Carers Day to support this year’sNational Carers Week (14-20 June). The special day wasorganised for carers who look after Hospice patients. NEW WEBSITEOctober also saw the launch of the new website designed byInterdirect as gift-in-kind.August 2010RECORD BREAKER82 year old George Solt became the oldest man to climbKilimanjaro and raised nearly £3,000 for Willen Hospice inmemory of his wife.The website retains some of the features of the old site buthas a fresh, modern look and feel, image galleries, latestnews blog and closer links with social media sites that havebecome increasingly important for communicating in the everchanging world of the internet.MOO GETS TO THE FINALSThe Midnight Moo is shortlisted in the Fundraising Eventof the Year category of the Third Sector awards. Another firstfor the Hospice.BOWLED OVERWolverton Town Bowls Club held their annual Bowlscompetition. Since running the event they have raised over£6,000 for the Hospice.September 2010PEDAL POWERFour intrepid cyclists, Owen Daley, Richard Smith, AlanMatthews and ex-pro cyclist Paul Watson completed theExtra Mile Challenge on 24th to 26th of September. The 500mile route saw the team cycle through Belgium and Francefinally ending up in Germany’s Black Forest. The team raisedover £1,500 for the Hospice.October 2010BUSINESS RECEPTIONOn October 7th, Willen Hospice held its annual BusinessReception at Mercedes-Benz of Milton Keynes andpresented its vision for the future to an audience of 150 keybusiness leaders and dignitaries from around the City.LOOKING FORWARD WITH NEW BRANDINGPaul Hinson, Chief Executive of Willen Hospice unveiled theHospice’s fresh new brand identity and marketing campaigncreated by local businesses Art in Marketing, PerceptionPR, and Igloo Creative, as gift-in-kind.November 2010WE SAY ‘YES’A new ‘Yes’ campaign was developedwith expert help, especially for our 30th year.It positively declares our determinationto be here for the next thirty years!The Vision"Our vision is to be the lastingand thriving provider of free care toall people affected by life limiting illnessin our community."
