2013 Cary Academy Holiday Shoppe - Information FlyerDates: December 4-7, 2013Hours:Wednesday: Set-up 10:00 am – 4 pm; Preview Party 7 – 9 pmThursday: 9:30 am – 5 pmFriday:10:00 am – 5 pm; 6:30 – 9 pmSaturday: 10:00 am – 4 pmVendors: Cary Academy Holiday Shoppe assembles a mix of about 100 vendors ― artisans, handcrafters,and retail ventures – who offer merchandise in various categories including jewelry, homedécor, gift items, clothing, accessories and food. Every effort is made to minimize duplicatemerchandise. Below are some of the benefits of being a vendor:Our show is held just after Thanksgiving when the buying frenzy for the holidays begins. Ourcustomers are not just window-shopping; our customers are buying!No admission fee for our shoppers.Our show is different from other shows in that we offer a centralized check-out. This meansyou are not required to staff your space throughout the show. Your merchandise will be markedwith your vendor number (ensuring you get credit for all your sales), and will sell whether youare attending our show, attending another show, or staffing your own store. We encourage yourattendance but understand it may not be possible during this busy time and it shouldn’t eliminateyour participation. Our show provides you with the unique opportunity to maximize your salesduring this critical holiday period! For vendors who do attend, you are able to spend your timehelping customers and marketing your business rather than simply ringing up sales.We absorb the cost of all credit card fees and shoppers are exempt from sales tax.In our 11 th year, the show is well-organized and offers numerous perks to vendors including:tickets to our wine and hors d’oeuvres Preview Party, a Hospitality Lounge offering coffee,beverages and snacks throughout the show, the option of ordering lunch each day, and supportpacking up at the end of the show. We also have many volunteers on the floor throughout theevent to assist shoppers and vendors, and to ensure that everyone has a great experience.And most importantly, being a vendor at our show exposes your business to 5,000+ shoppersand potential future customers! Beyond the sales from the show, it’s a great way to marketyour business to many new faces.Shoppers: Cary Academy Holiday Shoppe attracts over 5,000 eager shoppers ready to spend moneyon holiday purchases. Our show is held on the Cary Academy campus, conveniently located just off I-40between Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill. We aggressively market to our Cary Academy community aswell as to households throughout the Triangle using print, social media, radio and television. We alsorun a shuttle between our campus and the 5,000-employee, world headquarters of software giant SAS toconveniently allow SAS employees to shop with us throughout the show.


Fee Structure:Cary Academy Holiday Shoppe is a fundraising event for need-based scholarships and communityoutreach. Cary Academy collects 20% of all sales and charges a space rental fee.Space rental choices include: $125: One 6’ banquet table with white tablecloth with 4’ of floor space directly infront of the display table.$150: Two 6’ banquet tables with white tablecloths. Most tables will be in anL-shape. Includes 4’ of floor space directly in front of long table.$200: Three 6’ banquet tables with white tablecloths. Most tables will be in ahorseshoe shape, some may be in an L shape. Includes 4’ of floor space directly in frontof long table.$325: One 10 x 12’ space with one 6’ banquet table with white tablecloth.Additional banquet tables with tablecloth needed in this space are $25 each.Payment to Vendors: Vendor checks will be mailed by December 20, 2013. With our cash registercapability, we can provide total sales data, but are not able to provide individual reports on each itemsold.Application Process: Vendor participation in the show is by invitation only. Interested vendors shouldsubmit an application that will be reviewed by our vendor selection committee. Vendors approved by thecommittee will receive an invitation with contracts that must be returned with a check for the spacerental fee to reserve a spot in the show. Invitations are extended on a rolling basis throughout thesummer and fall.
