EGG BASE <strong>RULES</strong>The Egg Base occupies 18 spaces on the map (a 6-space by 3-spacearea) and can have up to 22 adjacent spaces. The Egg Base has threedials: the Chained Queen dial, the Egg Sac dial, and the Harnessdial. Be sure to turn all three dials to the vertical green line beforestarting the game.The following general rules apply while the Alien Queen is inserted into theEgg Base:• Ignore the Alien Queen dial; it can’t be given any action or beattacked.• The Egg Base does not receive an action token when it is givenan action, never becomes vulnerable, can’t move, and can’tbecome blooded.• The Egg Base ignores other monsters’ Impel and Scare powers;ignores other monsters’ Invisible, Phantom, and Stealth powerswhen it’s attacking; and can’t go insane or be possessed.• If the Chained Queen dial is killed (shows three symbols) whilethe Alien Queen is inserted into the Egg Base, remove the EggBase and the Alien Queen from the game. The player who killsthe Chained Queen dial receives 450 victory points for the Egg Base(none for the Alien Queen).Chained Queen DialWhile the Alien Queen is bound by her heavy restraints, the ChainedQueen dial represents her ability to attack nearby opponents withthe powers described on the Chained Queen Dial card. The ChainedQueen dial can attack and be attacked by opposing monsters. TheChained Queen dial is at the rear of the Egg Base, opposite theindentation for the Alien Queen.


GENERAL <strong>ALIEN</strong> <strong>QUEEN</strong> <strong>RULES</strong>The following general rules apply when the Alien Queen is free of theEgg Base:• If the Egg Base is on the play map, ignore all its dials; it isblocking terrain that can’t attack or be attacked.• The Alien Queen ignores other monsters’ Impel and Scarepowers; ignores other monsters’ Invisible, Phantom, and Stealthpowers when she’s attacking; and can’t go insane or be possessed.• The Alien Queen does not receive an action token when she isgiven an action, but she may be given only one action per turn.• The Alien Queen is always blooded.• The player who kills the Alien Queen monster receives 300 victorypoints.Moving the Alien QueenWhen moving the Alien Queen, choose any space adjacent to theAlien Queen to begin counting movement. The Alien Queen mustend her movement so that her base rests on one of the spaces withinher movement range and no part of her base rests on a space outsideher movement range. When counting movement for the AlienQueen, if a space with a wall token, portal marker, or other object onit is included in her movement, or if she ends her movement withher base resting on a space containing one of those items, that item isremoved from play and replaced with a hindering terrain marker.The Alien Queen can’t move through indoor blocking terrain, can’tend her movement with any part of her base occupying a space withblocking terrain on it, and ignores the effects of hindering terrain andclosed portals for movement purposes. No part of the Alien Queen’sbase can occupy a space that is occupied by another monster.


Attacking with the Alien QueenThe Alien Queen has a maximum of 12 adjacent spaces. She canattack and be attacked through any of them. The Alien Queen canmake a ranged combat attack against any target in range, even ifopposing monsters are in an adjacent space. When drawing a lineof fire to or from the Alien Queen, you can draw it to or from thecenter of any of the 4 spaces the Alien Queen occupies.Scenario 1: S.O.F. (Save Our Food)BackgroundWithin a recently discovered pyramid, the Alien Queen threatens to breakfree, bringing with her Alien hordes that threaten every good monster’sfood supply. Realizing the threat, a group of monsters decides to take heron before she can get free. Unfortunately, her eggs have already hatched,giving the monsters something else to worry about.ObjectiveThe monster horde must stop the Alien Queen from breaking free! Ifthe Alien Queen dial or Chained Queen dial is killed, or if the AlienQueen is still inserted into the Egg Base at the end of the game, themonster horde wins. If the Alien Queen is freed before the end ofthe game, the Aliens win.Army SizeTwo-player game; 600-point armies; six actions per turn. One playermust have an Alien Queen and Egg Base in his or her army, andrepresents the Aliens. The other player represents the monster horde.Before the game begins, decide which player will play the monsterhorde and which player will play the Aliens.Time Limit60 minutes


MapAlien Queen Containment Chamber (AVP: Alien Queen Action Pack)SetupAfter victims have been placed, place six Alien Drone minionsadjacent to the Egg Base. Alien Egg minions can’t be placed.Special Scenario Rules1. Go for the Head: When an opposing monster successfullyattacks the Chained Queen dial, it may choose to deal damageto the Alien Queen dial instead. The Alien Queen’s powers areignored for the attack.2. Support Your Local Queen: Friendly monsters can’t attack theHarness dial until the Xenogenesis power is showing on theEgg Sac dial.3. Aliens Save the Queen!: Alien Drone minion tokens areblooded.4. They Just Keep Coming!: If an Alien Drone minion is killed,the slayer is not blooded. Instead, remove the Alien Droneminion from the map. The slayer still gains victory pointsfor the minion. At the beginning of the Aliens player’s turn,if there are fewer than six Alien Drone minions in play, he orshe may place an Alien Drone minion from outside the gameadjacent to the Egg Base.Scenario 2: A Mother’s LoveBackgroundGoing on the offensive, victims and monsters alike are on the huntfor Alien eggs to dissect, decipher, or devour.ObjectiveThe Alien Queen player aims to protect as many Alien Eggs asshe can, while the other player seeks to capture as many AlienEgg minions as possible. The winner is the player with the mostvictory points when the game ends.

The Aliens player can use spaces I1, I2, I12, I13, A5–A9, andB5–B9 for his or her starting area. The research team player uses thestarting area on the opposite side of the map. The Aliens player is thefirst player.Special Scenario Rules1. Ooh . . . What’s That?: Whenever the research team playermoves a victim or monster that ends its movement on an AlienEgg minion token, that player removes the Alien Egg minionfrom the game and gains 50 victory points.2. A Mother’s Hatred: The Aliens player can give the AlienQueen two actions per turn.3. Hush Now, My Babies: For each Alien Egg minion token lefton the map at the end of the game, the Alien player gains 50victory points.
