At Stranraer, on the 28th January, Matilda, second daughter of the Rev. Robert J. Watt, aged 3 years <strong>and</strong> 4months.Here, at Church Street, on the 28th ultimo, John son of Mr Alex<strong>and</strong>er M'Cracken, baker, aged 11 months.At Drumbreddan, on the 24th ultimo, Alex<strong>and</strong>er Frederick, tenant of that farm. He was a native of thiscounty, <strong>and</strong> long distinguished as one of its most extensive <strong>and</strong> most useful agriculturalists. He was active<strong>and</strong> prudent in all his operations, just <strong>and</strong> punctual in all his transactions, sincere <strong>and</strong> steadfast in hisfriendship, charitable to the poor, <strong>and</strong> largely gave employment to the humbler classes. He was a native ofthe parish of Donaghadee, <strong>and</strong> came to Kirkmaiden upwards of 70 years ago, where he has lived eversince. He was remarkably healthy through life; <strong>and</strong> even when he was 98 years old, was able to plough thelittle croft that Colonel Macdouall kindly allowed him to possess. Nearly four years ago his eyesight failedhim. He was possessed of an excellent memory which he enjoyed to the very last, <strong>and</strong> when passages ofScripture were repeated to him, he could supply any omission with readiness, or finish a text that wasbegun. He has left a widow to mourn him for a little, after enjoying his company for 70 years; her age is
