ACKNOWLEDGEMENTSNUEPA is engaged in strengthening of educational management information system for the last more than ten years. The process initiated in 42districts across 7 DPEP phase one states in 1994-95 is now extended to all the districts of the country.The study of this magnitude cannot be completed without the active involvement and participation of the EMIS professionals at the national andsub-national levels. The state level EMIS coordinators, district level programmers and data entry operators, and BRC and CRC coordinatorsworked for long hours to make sure that the data becomes available at the right time. I am thankful to them all.Ms. Anshu Vaish, Secretary in the Department of School Education and Literacy, MHRD and his team has always been a source of greatinspiration.
