A classical interference ?(I) It is obviously different from the interference (diffraction) effect observable in themeasurement of coherent radiation. In the measurement of coherent light, the local22superposition of a large number of coherent fields E j(r 1,t 1) and E j(r 2,t 2) produceseither two independent (factorizable) pulses in time or two independent (factorizable)diffraction patterns on the transverse observing planes. However, this has never happenedin the measurement of chaotic-thermal light.(II) It is not the interference of E(r 1,t 1) E(r 2,t 2) 2 , where E(r 1,t 1) and E(r 2,t 2) are the fieldsmeasured at space-time coordinates (r 1,t 1) and (r 2,t 2), respectively. In the Maxwellelectromagnetic wave theory of light, E(r 1,t 1) and E(r 2,t 2) can never interfere with eachother at distance through the measurement of two individual photodetectors.
