Silfurberg conference hallRepresenting the element earth,Harpa’s conference hall is calledSilfurberg after the translucent calcitecrystal that is rarely found outsideof Iceland.The hall is suitable for all types ofconferences, receptions or events.It is specially designed as a conferencehall and features the best availabletechnological equipment. It is alsosuited to many types of musicperformances. The acoustics areadapted to the spoken word and areconfigurable.Kaldalón auditoriumKaldalón, the smallest hall in thebuilding, is situated on Harpa’s firstfloor. It is well suited for all types oflectures, as well as for meetings, filmscreenings, and music.The hall can accommodate 195 seatedguests, in stationary seats. The stage ismovable, and the floor can also be usedas a stage. The reverberation time inthe hall can be changed, thus making itadaptable for various types of events.Capacity195 seats (theatre style)Silfurberg is located on the secondfloor of Harpa. It can accommodateup to 840 seated guests (theatrestyle). The stage is movable andexpandable. The hall can be dividedinto two parts, each accommodating325 seated guests, with a soundproofedretractable partition.Capacity840/360 seats (theatre style)
Norðurljós recital hallNorðurljós is a recital hall on Harpa’ssecond floor, situated betweenEldborg and Silfurberg. It offersvarious possibilities for conferences,receptions, concerts and other events.There are balconies all around theperimeter of the hall, and the stageis movable. The hall is equipped withcustom-designed lighting equipmentthat can be configured in a number ofcoloured themes, creating the mostsuitable atmosphere for the eventtaking place.Capacity520 seats (theatre style)BjörtuloftBjörtuloft, meaning Bright heights inIcelandic, are as the name suggestsboth bright and roomy. The space islocated over two floors – the sixth andseventh floor of Harpa and is perfectfor meetings, receptions and all kindsof gatherings. Ideally, guests can bereceived on the lower floor and canthen move on to a sit-down dinner onthe upper floor which seats around130 people.Björtuloft is equipped with a screen andmeeting equipment and a sound system.One of the most stunning features ofBjörtuloft is the balcony which featuresoutstanding views of the city, theharbour and the surrounding oceanand mountains.
