Detach the wires.3 Check whether the socket you have just dismantledis the first connection point.Now test your telephone on all the <strong>sockets</strong> of your home.1. If the fixing screw of your socket is at thebottom, this pair of wires is connected onthe left (A B terminal).A. Scenario B:You obtain a dial tone at a socket, but not the one you openedThis socket is your first connection point.- Reconnect the wires of the open socket and close the lidof the box.- Open the junction box which gave you a dial tone.You have a surface-mounted socket1 Open the new connection socket.Proceed to point 4.Scenario C:You obtain a dial tone at several <strong>sockets</strong>.The first connection point is probably one of the <strong>sockets</strong> at whichyou still have a dial tone, upstream of the one you opened.Close the socket which you opened and repeat the procedurewith the <strong>sockets</strong> which give you a dial tone until you find thefirst connection point.dial tonenodial tone2 Prepare the mounting plate.dial tone4 Remove the existing socket.The existing connection socket must be completely removed,so that you can replace it with the VDSL2 connection socketprovided. If a filter has been plugged into your socket (see page 6),it must also be removed.5 Determine what type of connection youhave and attach the new socket provided.A. Carefully remove the centralblock of the plate by unfasteningthe little clips one by one.B. Open the white flap.C. Pierce through the plate’sattachment points.Does the entry cable of the connection runalong the walls?Does the entry cable of the connection pointcome out from a hole in the wall?Surface-mounted socketorFlush-mounted socketD. Hold the mounting plate in thedesired position on the wallB. Make sure the wires can bereconnected on the appropriateconnector blocksC. If necessary, move the mountingplate or rotate it a quarter turn.6 Test your telephone connection (optional).If you use a telephone connected to a traditional line(i.e. not a telephone via the Internet), you can check the connection:4 Connect the wires to the connector blocks.Connect the wires to theconnector blockStart by turning the screws inanti-clockwise direction.Introduce the wires. Block the wires byscrewing in clockwise direction.A. Connect the two wires whichgave the dial tone to the blackconnector blockB. Connect the wires intended for anadditional connection point to the greenconnector block. If unconnected wiresremain, carefully fold them in the insideof the block, making sure the free pairsdo not touch the metallic parts.A. Unplug the 5-pin plug of thetelephone connector.B. Plug the telephone connectorinto the new connection socket.C. You can now check your connection.To do so, dial 0800 55 060. You have a flush-mounted socketYou have to mount the VDSL2 connection socketonto the flush-mounted junction box using special mounting feet.1 Open the new connection socket.Easier with a flush-mountedjunction box.You can buy a flush-mounted junction boxspecially adapted for VDSL2 connections.For this, it is best to drop by a <strong>Belgacom</strong>point-of-sale.D. Then stick the bottom of the clampto the back of the mounting plate.E. Insert the screws into the holeson the front of the plate.F. Insert the mounting feet into theclamp. Slightly tighten the nuts onthe end of the screws.2 Prepare the mounting plate.orandG. Place the elastic band aroundthe mounting feet.A. Carefully remove the centralblock of the plate by unfasteningthe little clips one by one.B. Open the white flap. C. Punch out a hole at thetop or bottom of the plate,depending on where thewires must enter.D. Punch out the screwholes of the plate and letthe wires through.4 Determine the position of the mounting plate and attach it to the wall.3 Prepare the mounting system (clamp/feet).clampfeetA. Take the mounting systemfor the flush-mountedconnector block.B. Unscrew the screws so thatyou can separate the variouscomponents.C. Stick the two-sided adhesivetape on the part designed forthis purpose.A. Pull the wires through the openingand place the mounting plate againstthe wall.B.
