As you are aware, we will also be making school uniform a main focus for this year. Thechildren MUST be dressed in full school uniform when they arrive at school, including plainblack shoes. We have also made it compulsory for PE uniform to be worn on the day onwhich the children are taught PE by the coaches. The children must be wearing a light bluet-shirt with the school logo. These t-shirts are available from the school offices whilst stocklasts. If you are unsure, please do not hesitate to come to speak to me.In place of our traditional ‘school rules’ we have now introduced our ‘School Standards’.The children have discussed these in their classes and have each designed a school charterclearly stating how they intend to meet these standards. The behaviour system remainssimilar, with the children being awarded points should they be on ‘green’ at the end of theschool day. The children can also be awarded for their ‘exceptional behaviour’ with a goldaward from their class teacher. There are no more bronze or silver awards within thesystem. In order to improve standards of behaviour, the children have been told that they must nowline up in silence. This is true at the end of lunch and breaks. They will walk to their lineswithout talking to each other. We would also like to extend this to our mornings as thechildren arrive at school. All class teachers and support staff will be in the schoolplayground from 8.50am. As always, this is your opportunity to speak with staff, should youneed to. As normal, the bell will ring at 8.55am sharp. At this point, the children will be toldto be silent so as to ensure they walk into the school without talking. We would ask thatyou support us with this and allow your child and their peers to come into school in silence.Best wishes,Nicole ReidHEAD OF SCHOOL
