The use of language in developing context – especially in Mathematical Literacy –should be kept to a minimum so that students do not spend more time reading thanthey do answering the examination questions. The following have not been included in the booklet and teachers who use these papers intheir teaching may need to develop and include these for the papers:• Cover pages and instructions sheets• Diagram sheets (if necessary)• Formulae sheetsAlthough every effort has been taken to minimise errors, it is possible that there are some.If you are working with the booklet and happen to come across any errors then pleasewrite to the developers (aarnout@brombacher.co.za) so that we can rectify these for futureeditions. It is hoped that you will find these papers useful as you prepare your students forexaminations in Mathematics and Mathematical Literacy and also as you attempt to makesense of the curriculum statements for both subjects.
