Lesson Plan:<strong>Insect</strong> <strong>Body</strong> <strong>Parts</strong>Grade 1-2Objectives:• The student will read and /or listen to a Hyper Studio programentitled <strong>Insect</strong>s to learn the main visible body parts (head,mouthparts, legs, wings, thorax, abdomen, and antennae) of aninsect.• Shown a set of pictures, the student will select those which showinsects.• Given a picture of an insect, the student will label the main visiblebody parts.• Using KidPix, the student will draw an original insect including ahead, thorax, abdomen, mouthparts, legs, wings, and antennae.Standards:Science• 1.5 - The student will investigate and understand that animalshave life needs and specific physical characteristics and can beclassified according to certain characteristics.Physical characteristics- body shape, appendages
