There it is written there that around Ch˘nov, which was possessedby the Slavníks, there arose a settlement to which belongedSolopisky (today’s Zoubek near Kfieã). Permanent settlement probablybegan in the 11 th or 12 th centuries. Two trade routes went throughâernovice. One was a salt trade route leading from Prachatice to HradecKrálové. The other was a trade route leading from Tábor towardsJindfiichÛv Hradec. As a crossroads of these two routes âernovice becamea significant trade centre. It is knownthat by the second half of the 14 th century there were already seven millson the âernovice Creek, which is proven by the Land and Duties Registerof the Rosenbergs from 1379. The first known landowners of âernovicewere the Lords of Choustník, ruling between 1252 and 1322.âernovice gained its emblem as early as the 14 th century; it was a townfrom 1323 until 30 th June 1960.
