Leckey products comply with firesafety regulations in accordancewith EN12182. However the productcontains plastic components andtherefore should bekept away from all direct sources ofheat including naked flames,cigarettes, electric and gas heaters.Clean the product regularly. Do notuse abrasive cleaners. Carry outmaintenance checks on a regularbasis to ensure your product is in goodworking condition.

How tounpack andassembleCongratulations on purchasing yourLeckey Bath Chair. Your Bath Chair willcome bubble wrapped, flat packed andwithout the cover attached. Your LeckeyBath Chair will come with a hip belt alreadyattached and chest belt with lateral supports.Additional straps as ordered will also beincluded. Carefully remove them andplease check that you have all the partsyou ordered.7

8.3 Back reclineadjustment8.4 Calf supportadjustmentThe back recline of the Leckey Bath Chaircan be adjusted to four positions fromhorizontal to 90 degrees. The back recline isadjusted by pulling the lever, moving to therequired position and then releasing the lever,ensuring it slots back into position.The calf support can be adjusted into fourpositions by pulling down on the levers,moving to the required position and thenreleasing the lever into position.When adjusting the bath chair intoany position ensure the locking pin isfully engaged.

8.5 Chest belt adjustment8.6 Abduction strapadjustmentTo position the foam pads under the user’sarmpit, while looping the strap around theback of the frame and secure with Velcro atthe front as shown. The lateral supports canalso be positioned out of the way at the backof the seat if the user does not require thislevel of support.Once the abduction strap has been attachedthe legs are then positioned and secured bythe smaller Velcro straps.

9 Cleaning & CareInformation10 Daily ProductInspectionHow to MaintainWhen cleaning the bath chair frame werecommend that you use only warm waterand a non-abrasive detergent. Never useorganic solvents or dry cleaning fluids.Upholstery and fabricsThe bath seat cover can be removed andmachine washed at 60 degrees.The bath chair accessories can be cleanedby hand whilst in place. When cleaning werecommend that you use only warm waterand a nonabrasive detergent.We recommend that you do not use any typeof medication in the bathwater during thebathing process as this may contribute tothe breakdown of the adhesive glue used tobond the moulding to the stainless steel leg.Always ensure the product is dry before use.Metal and plastic components1. Soap and water or antibacterial spray canbe used for daily cleaning.(Therapists, parents & carers)We recommend that daily visual checks ofthe equipment are carried out by therapists,carers or parents to ensure the product issafe for use.The recommended daily checksare detailed below.1. Ensure all adjustment knobs are in placeand secure.2. Check all upholstery and velcro for signsof wear and tear3. Check all castors are moving freely andlock securely.If in any doubt to the continued safeuse of your Leckey product or if anyparts should fail, please cease usingthe product and contact our customerservice department or your local dealeras soon as possible.2. For deep cleaning a low pressure steamcleaner can be used.3. Do not use solvents to clean plastic ormetal components.4. Make sure the product is dry before use.

11 Annual ProductInspection12 Re-issuingLeckey Products(Therapist, Technician, Leckey ProductAdvisor,Dealer)Leckey recommend that each productshould be subject to a detailed inspection atleast once a year and every time the productis reissued for use. This inspection shouldbe carried out by a technically competentperson who has been trained in the use ofthe product and should include the followingchecks as a minimum requirement.1. Check all knobs, nuts, bolts and plasticbuckles are in place, replacing any missingitems. Paying particular attention to thefollowing items;5. Lift the base to check each castorindividually. Make sure they are movingfreely and remove any dirt from the rubberwheels. Check that the brakes lock thewheels securely.6. Visually check the structure of the productpaying attention to weld points on the frameensuring there are no signs of fatigue orcracking around the welds.7. Leckey recommend that a written record ismaintained of all annual product inspections.Most Leckey products are assessed andordered to meet the needs of an individualuser. Before reissuing a product werecommend that the therapist prescribingthe product has carried out an equipmentcompatibility check for the new user andhas ensured that the product beingre-issued contains no modifications orspecial attachments.A detailed technical inspection should becarried on the product prior to re-issuing.This should be carried out by a technicallycompetent person who has been trained inthe use and inspection of the product.Please refer to section 11 for the requiredchecks to be carried out.Ensure the product has been cleanedthoroughly in accordance with sectionof this manual.Ensure a copy of the user manual issupplied with the product.
