Delvene Cornwall and Sue CornwallPresentation Title: Aborig<strong>in</strong>al PerspectivesBr<strong>in</strong>g<strong>in</strong>g spark of life to <strong>the</strong> Aborig<strong>in</strong>al Community and understand<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> Aborig<strong>in</strong>al culture.Summary:Sue and Delvene are <strong>the</strong> first Aborig<strong>in</strong>al women Spark of Life Master Practitioners and will share whatcomplet<strong>in</strong>g this course has meant to <strong>the</strong>m <strong>in</strong> support<strong>in</strong>g and heal<strong>in</strong>g with<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir community and cultureThey will share some ideas about how to creatively support Aborig<strong>in</strong>al people liv<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> aged care facilities.Delvene CornwallDelvene is a Bibbulmun/Noongar Yorga and she is currently work<strong>in</strong>g at <strong>the</strong>Department of Environment and Conservation as <strong>the</strong> senior female heritage officer.She has been <strong>in</strong> a privileged position to share and teach o<strong>the</strong>rs about her amaz<strong>in</strong>gculture. One of her roles is to provide a balance with<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> culture by highlight<strong>in</strong>g<strong>the</strong> important roles women play <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir culture.Delvene herself is a mo<strong>the</strong>r to two beautiful children.Delvene has graduated <strong>in</strong> 2012 as a Spark of Life Master Practitioner, and toge<strong>the</strong>rwith her mum were <strong>the</strong> first two Aborig<strong>in</strong>al women to undertake <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>ternationalcourse.Sue CornwallSue Khan-Cornwall is an Aborig<strong>in</strong>al lady who was a child of <strong>the</strong> stolen generation <strong>in</strong>Australia.Sue and her five bro<strong>the</strong>rs were taken away when she was 9 years old <strong>in</strong> 1967, whereshe spent 6 years of her life <strong>in</strong> a Baptist mission. It was government policy of <strong>the</strong> daythat was en<strong>for</strong>ced and had far reach<strong>in</strong>g effects on all <strong>in</strong>volved, and still affects <strong>in</strong><strong>the</strong>ir lives today because <strong>the</strong>y don’t understand why it happened.In 2012 Sue qualified as a Master Practitioner <strong>in</strong> Spark of Life, and considers thatthis philosophy to positive human relationships is go<strong>in</strong>g to help her community withits heal<strong>in</strong>g process.Project Managed by <strong>the</strong> Students ofDiploma of Bus<strong>in</strong>ess/Diploma of Bus<strong>in</strong>ess Adm<strong>in</strong>istrationPage 4
