It is quite common to hear people say: "Think
positive!", to someone who feels down and
worried.
Not everyone accepts or believes in positive
thinking. All of us affect, in one way or another,
the people we meet. People around us sense our
aura and are affected by our thoughts, and vice
versa. It is generally observed that people are
more disposed to help us if we are positive.
Positive thinking is a mental attitude that admits
into the mind thoughts, words and images
that are conductive to growth, expansion and
success. It is a mental attitude that expects good
and favorable results.
Thus a positive mind anticipates happiness,
joy, health and a successful outcome of every
situation and action.
Wish you all a very happy and prosperous year ahead.

MESSAGE FROM MANSOUR AL ALAMI
MANAGING DIRECTOR
Year 2011 seems to be promising in terms of sealing strategic
alliances, major project signups and growth in general for
companies under the umbrella of AlBawardi Enterprises. The
challenges we face due to rippling effects of 2009 global and
regional recession are very much in existence. However with
UAE markets reacting positively and government initiating new
projects, especially in the Energy, Education and Infrastructure
Sector brings us closer to normalcy. All Business Units in the
group have embraced to the challenge of meeting and or exceeding
business objectives as chalked out in June 2009. Next six months
will be equally difficult but rewarding in terms of meeting these
objectives
Last three months have been exciting at many fronts. Let me share
one of the success stories: on 9th February 2010, Emdad acquired
75% shares of Litwin PEL LLC, an investment carefully selected
and backed with full confidence that we will add value and get
returns in short span of time.
Emdad Management played an important role in adding value
in next few months and strategizing company future plans
to position the company to attract investors. In first week of
December 2010 we have inked the sale agreement with MIS
(Maritime Industrial Services) not only providing liquidity for
future growth and projects of Emdad but the experience gained
has positioned Emdad in the Mergers and Acquisition market.
On a strategic front Emdad has secured second phase of the
Cathodic Protection (CP) project and is well into execution
of the project. The maintenance contract related to Cathodic
Protection is also progressing well as planned.
Emjel (a joint venture between Emdad and Sanjel) is equally
making strides with operational activities with the 4th Unit
coming under deployment soon.
Emdad was well received during ADIPEC and was successfully
represented by a record number of Principals. EMDAD with
TMK, has secured a major contract for the supply of OCTG
casing and tubing pipes to fulfil the requirements of 2010 - 2011
operations. EMDAD has added yet another feather to its cap
with the signing of its new alliance with China Petroleum Jilin
Chemical Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd.
Emdad ADIPEC stand won second place as best exhibitor.
ASPGulf in the quest to prove its value add and commitment
to quality is applying for Dubai Quality Award (DQA) this year.
The management and core team have submitted comprehensive
self analysis document to DQA secretariat and await audit in Feb
2011. We are confident that they will prove themselves versus the
world recognized DQA benchmarks.
ITQAN continued to sail and marking its presence with a wider
radius and more products and services. ITQAN was thrilled to
celebrate its silver jubilee with GITEX’s 30 years’ anniversary by
participating in the event.
In October 2010, ITQAN participated in The 7th Annual
Middle East Human Resources Summit to showcase its talent
development solutions, commissioned by its partner SumTotal
Systems, the global leader in providing learning and performance
management solutions.
gi is evolving and slowly gathering momentum in offering
services related to Event Management. With recent projects such
as ADIPEC, GITEX and IDEX it is building its specialization in
this field.
It will be incomplete if we do not mention the value addition
Furnicon is bringing to AE Group. With major projects executed
in record time it is one of the best examples of optimized
productivity within the AE Group.
Let me take this opportunity to wish you all Happy New Year
and hope that all will work as one cohesive team in achieving
AE common goals and objectives. The above is a glimpse of
current business and its development, it is worth mentioning
that there are number of initiatives in the pipeline at AE level
whereby further diversification with high yield projects are in the
making.

UAE-based Maritime Industrial Services Co. Ltd. Inc.
(OSE: MIS), a diversified engineering and contracting
group focused on the energy sector signed an agreement
to acquire Litwin PEL LLC, from EMDAD LLC.
The business, which will maintain the name Litwin PEL
/ part of the MIS Group of Companies for a three year
period, will continue to be led by its Chief Executive
Officer, Pierre Leretz who thanked EMDAD LLC for its
remarkable support. This acquisition falls well within
Emdad’s strategy which was to buy Litwin, develop it
and position it to reach this achievement.

ITQAN, GITEX Commemorate Milestones Together.
Leading systems integrator ITQAN Al-Bawardi Computers
participated in this year’s incumbent IT exhibition GITEX, to
showcase its success stories and key accomplishments that have
enriched its resume for the past 25 years.
ITQAN’s participation this year coincided with its 25 years
anniversary, which also marked 30 years of GITEX events in the
UAE.
“Our participation in this year’s GITEX comes as an ultimate
necessity, after very fruitful and remarkable 25 years of
accomplishments and pioneering achievements. We are thrilled
to celebrate ITQAN’s silver jubilee with GITEX’s 30 years’
anniversary, and we look forward to see each other grow and
ASPGULF DESIGNS BEA'TI WATANI PROJECT OF EWS
Bea’ti Watani is an integrated portal for entire students, schools
and partners (read as Municipalities) of UAE, sponsored by
Emirates Wildlife Society-World Wildlife Fund. Students from
the age of 6 -14 have to attend this online examination for testing
their awareness on the distinctive natural habitat of the UAE
as well as local and global conservation issues. The portal had
student module (registration/approval/exam), school module
(registration/approval/reports/certificates), partner module
(registration/approval/reports) and an underlying Admin
Module for Emirates Wildlife Society. The same will be hosted at
ASPGulf and supported with an Annual Maintenance Contract
develop even further throughout the coming years,” raved Feras
Al-Jabi, ITQAN’s General Manager.
ITQAN’s success stories with projects for Sharjah Museums
Department, Maritime Industrial Services, and Ministry of
Health highlighted and presented at its stand.
“ITQAN’s four principal practices showcased the latest
technologies and consultancy on the best practices to the valued
guests.
“We developed a series of interesting interactive activities
that aimed to capture their interest and enlighten them with
the most cutting edge solutions in the IT world,” added Feras
Al-Jabi, General Manager - ITQAN.
(AMC). Currently the examination is conducted by the member
schools in a conventional way which is quite cumbersome.
With this project, by converting the entire process online, it gives
total flexibility to the students, coordinator teachers, partners and
EWS-WWF to participate in the
program at their convenience.

Leading systems integrator ITQAN Al-Bawardi Computers
successfully wrapped up a complete infrastructure overhaul
for Maritime Industrial Services Co. Ltd. Inc. (MIS), a leading
contractor in the energy-related construction and services
industry.
The project entailed a complete migration of MIS’ previous
infrastructure platform to a bundle of Microsoft’s technologies,
which include Microsoft’s messaging system, IT management
tools, data security and protection controls.
“This project illustrated the collaboration between MIS and
ITQAN and the level of co-operation and professionalism shown
by MIS during this project was remarkable and pushed us to
give our 200% percent to make this implementation a success.
Despite some obstacles and challenges that inevitably came up
during the implementation phase, MIS’ IT team was supportive,
and placed its complete trust in ITQAN,” commented ITQAN’s
General Manager, Feras Al-Jabi.
According to Al-Jabi, ITQAN had a major task to undertake given
the level of complexity and sophistication of this venture. “It was
like rebuilding a house again while still keeping its components
intact, in a sense that every aspect of their older infrastructure
had to be removed and replaced with another technology, all
while migrating the data smoothly and fluidly.”
“MIS has more than 900 employees who need to access this
system, covering five offices across the country. Without an
efficient centralized structure that manages these users, and in
most cases remotely, proper IT administration would be literally
impossible,” said Ossama Bader, MIS’ Vice President, IT, Human
Resources, and Admin.
Bader added that MIS possesses a huge amount of engineering,
drafting and other departmental documents that needed to be

shared by employees, and with the growth and development of
the company over the years the system needed to be significantly

is rapidly growing, and this was a necessary step to support our
strategy for growth. We are pleased with what ITQAN managed
to accomplish, and we hope to see this relationship continue in

Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of
the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, ADIPEC
2010 took place from 1st-4th Nov. During
the 4 day show, the eyes of the governments,
corporate leaders, and international visitors
were focusing on one of the largest and most
prominent oil and gas exhibitions in the
world.

Long days of preparation and hard work all were forgotten when
EMDAD’s team members and management reaped the fruit of
their success.
The story started just after ADIPEC 2008 page was folded.
Preparations took place since then, invitations to the event were
sent to our clients and principals, media packages were finalized,
we managed to register more than 160 exhibitors prior to the
event. EMDAD’s ADIPEC team was organizing the event with
an aim of making this event run smoothly for the participating
principals.
Four days prior to the event the contractors headed towards Abu
Dhabi National Exhibition and Center (ADNEC) to start the
buildup. EMDAD’s stand was the first of its kind to be built at
ADIPEC where the 480 SQM that was rented by EMDAD was
completely roofed by a free standing ceiling.
The stand was designed as an open area which made it easy for
the 31 exhibitors to stand out and for visitors to walk around.
This year ADIPEC was able to bring more than 45,000 visitors
during the 4 days show, and around 1,500 exhibiting companies

to present their technological excellence, latest equipment and
services. Out of the 1, 500 exhibiting companies EMDAD is
proud to announce that it won the “BEST STAND RUNNER
UP” for this year.
As expected EMDAD had a heavy flow of traffic during the
4 day show that consisted of visitors and clients. Besides being
interested in new business opportunities with EMDAD LLC,
many visitors were interested in dealing with the 31 principals
that were exhibiting under EMDAD pavilion. Having the 31
principals exhibiting under EMDAD’s umbrella supported our
message of being "The Integrated Service Provider".
EMDAD attracted many media reporters that were interested
in conducting interviews with EMDAD’s management. Some
of the media reporters were from Abu Dhabi TV, ADIPEC daily
newspaper, Al Bayan, Al Khaleej, and Al Itihad newspapers.

Contracts awarded and orders placed were published as pressreleases
in various newspapers.
ADIPEC 2010 was a remarkable success for Emdad and its
principals and when asked about their experience at ADIPEC,
below are some comments our principals and EMDAD team
members provided:
“To be honest I cannot think of anything to further improve the
ADIPEC set-up, the only improvements I need to address is from
my end. I thought you and the EMDAD team did an excellent
job and it was a pleasure sharing the stand.” Mr. Martyn Foote-

time at the island that unfortunately we could not go”. Mr. Javier

“As usual EMDAD participated well in ADIPEC 2010. Our stall
was considerably big and was easily noticeable in Hall no. 3. The
show was properly organized and well manned. The turnout of
our principal also was remarkable. I noticed that all visitors to
our stall were attended to and taken care of well. Even though
those who worked on the show were new comers, the show was a
big success. Keep up the good work!” Mrs. Jomy Kochery- Sales

support of our visitors, clients, principals and partners. We have
to appreciate our Marketing Team for their effort in proper

ADIPEC 2012 will take place on 12th-15th November 2012.
Preparations have already started; we have booked 450 SQM
and requested additional 100 SQM. Many of our principals are
willing to participate in ADIPEC under EMDAD’s umbrella.
We are all looking forward to record an outstanding presence at
ADIPEC 2012.

EMDAD arranged a social gathering for its principals and
partners as an appreciation for their participation at ADIPEC.
This year the event took place at Al Maya Island on Abu Dhabi
coast.
As soon as everyone arrived they gathered together, had a quick
chat and got the chance to be introduced to other principals. The
gathering helped in building and maintaining stronger bonds
between EMDAD, its principals and clients.
Throughout the event happiness and cheerfulness was filling the
atmosphere, the gathering just came in time so that everyone
would relax after several months of hard work and preparation.
The program kicked off by the fire dancers that engaged everyone,

followed by music played by the DJ. In between dinner was served
and principals tried their luck in F1 raffle tickets.

To kick-off 2011, AE Social Committee started its activities with
WHO AM I? Challenge , which was an activity that engaged all
AE group team members. The committee agreed on a mystery
item and each day for a week the committee sent 1 clue to the
team members that would help them figure out the mystery item.
The activity took place from 2nd Jan- 6th Jan. We received a total
of 33 correct responses.

On Sunday 9th Jan 2011 Mr. Alami conducted the draw and the
winner was ROBERT PAUL SAPIERA, who recently joined as
Database Administrator/ Document Controller at EMDAD, M38.
On behalf of AE Social Committee we would like to congratulate
Robert.

Before joining Emdad, he lived in UK for almost 14 years. Until
such time he finally returned to Abu Dhabi and he mentioned it
felt great to be back. Abu Dhabi is like a home for him.
The AE Magazine Committee had the chance to interview Mr.
Jamal Bochor, Emdad, Assistant General Manager and Regional
Sales Manager. Our interview with Mr. Jamal started as he
recalled his first day of work in Emdad on 26th May 2001, as
Regional Sales Manager which made him so excited and happy.
It was the late Mr. Hassan Bin Darwish who was the Chairman of
the Company at that time.
He joined as the Regional Manager of Emdad and was proud of
opening 2 Offices; the Qatar office which they still have at the
moment and the Syria office but they did not keep it for a long
time. “Starting the region itself, I felt it was a good contribution
from my side." said Mr. Jamal.
Being an Assistant General Manager of EMDAD, he has lots of
plans for the Company in the future. Emdad is expanding its
services in new projects within the area, within the Middle East
and North Africa. This is something he’s looking at the moment
and discussing with the Chief Executive Officer of Emdad. He
shared, "Emdad is doing quite good in UAE and even in Qatar so
they can do more and better to expand their services."
Jamal mentioned, “Considering the joint ventures that they
have, they can compete at the moment. They need to look for
new technologies, new ventures. The competition is tough and
that’s one of the reasons you know your margins in UAE itself is
not as good as overseas, because of the competition which is very
hard.”
These are the challenges that Jamal sees that EMDAD will face
in the next few years. According to him, they are trying to see
where they can add value and expand in a way where they can
keep up with the future. “It’s not an easy job but if we plan it
right, if we look at the right way to bring in proper Companies
with new technologies, we will be able to move forward and this
is our vision as EMDAD, as an ITO and we are still hoping to put
it in a stock market”, he explained.
He wants the EMDAD team members to see him as a person
who can extend help wherever he can. He works with them like a
family because he thinks, "This is the way it has to be because as
long as they respect you and they know your position, they won’t
abuse it, you are fine,” he stressed out. He also mentioned that

he’s accused of being the lenient one between Mr. Mansour and
Mr. Aly. But one thing he is really proud of, in EMDAD they are
one family who work as a team.
This good hearted gentleman enjoys different sports and likes to
play squash, bowling, football and tennis. On his weekend, he
spends a lot of time with his family, and likes to take them out.
He considers his family as his most treasured possession.
His biggest surprise was when he came to know that his mother
was pregnant when she was at the age of 49, where she was a
grandmother as well.
To sum it all up, another year had come to an end and he hopes
in this coming year, EMDAD will expand. He knows that they
have a good team and a good Company. Everybody deserves
better because of their hard work and dedication. He wishes
everybody good health, happiness, success and prosperity. He
hopes everybody will stick together and give their best because
he believes that if the Company succeeds, employees will succeed
as well.

ASSISTANT FINANCE MANAGER
They are responsible for supervising and handling financial
reports, investment portfolios, accounting, and all kinds of
financial analysis for an organization. These individuals manage
the cash flow for an organization by supervising balance sheets,
income statements, and the costs and revenue model. Their job
responsibilities also involve supplying an efficient financial blue

2007. Samir hails from Jordan and is
married to Kholoud Shafiq. He is the
proud father of two lovely kids Omar
and Tamara & loves to spend time with
his family. His hobbies include sports
such as Volley Ball, Football etc.

Satheesh is married to Ampili and has

and married to Liza. They have 3
children namely; Reuel, Talitha and
Thomas. During his free time he
loves to read books and travel. Manoj
celebrates his birthday on 12th March.
Telematics, Deputy Finance Controller
is Ganesh Shimpi. This Indian
gentleman has been in the Company
since 21 September 2008 and enjoys
photography, travelling, reading and
music. He has 2 children namely
Aishwarya and Amey. His birthday
falls on 29th October.
MARCAP LLC, Finance Manager is
Kirk Jansz . He is married to Rochelle
and a proud father of Dwayne and
Yanik. He has been in MARCAP since
24 April 2002. Kirk who hailed from
Sri Lanka celebrates his birthday on
15 December and considers reading
books as his hobby.

On November 18, 2010, the employees of gi and Furnicon
gathered together for their first inter-company food festival held
at the Furnicon Conference Room. The food fest was conducted
together for gi and Furnicon as both business units hold their
offices on the 2nd Floor of JVC Oasis Building, Airport Road, Abu

Jordan, Philippines, Syria, Lebanon and Egypt were enjoyed by
everyone.
Games were also facilitated during the activity to encourage
familiarization of each Team Member. Aside from the sumptuous
meal, team members shared chats, fun and laughter with other
members of the 2 business units. Team Members went home
with a full appetite and light on their faces.

One young academically excellent person went to apply for
a managerial position in a big company. He passed the first
interview, the director did the last interview & made the last
decision.The director discovered from the CV that the youth's
academic achievements were excellent all the way, from the
secondary school until the postgraduate research, never had a
year when he did not score.
The director asked, "Did you obtain any scholarships in school?"
The youth answered "none". Then the director asked, " Was it
your father who paid for your school fees?"The youth answered,
"My father passed away when I was one year old, it was my mother
who paid for my school fees. The director asked," Where did
your mother work? "The youth answered, "My mother worked
as clothes cleaner”.
The director requested the youth to show his hands.The youth
showed a pair of hands that were smooth and perfect. Upon
which the director asked," Have you ever helped your mother
wash clothes before?" The youth answered, "Never, my mother
always wanted me to study and read more books. Furthermore,
my mother can wash clothes faster than me. The director said, "I
have a request, when you return home today, go and clean your
mother's hands, and then see me tomorrow morning”.
The youth felt that his chance of landing the job was high. When
he went back, he happily requested his mother to let him clean
her hands. His mother felt strange, happy but with mixed feelings,
she showed her hands to the kid. The youth cleaned his mother's
hands slowly. His tear fell as he did that, it was the first time
he noticed that his mother's hands were so
wrinkled, and there were so many bruises in
her hands. Some bruises were so painful that
his mother shivered when they were cleaned
with water.
This was the first time the youth realized that it
was this pair of hands that washed the clothes
everyday to enable him to pay the school fee. The bruises in the
mother's hands were the price that the mother had to pay for his
graduation, academic excellence and his future. After finishing
cleaning his mother’s hands, the youth quietly washed all the
remaining clothes for his mother. That night, mother and son
talked for a very long time. Next morning, the youth went to the
director's office, who noticed tears in the youth's eyes and asked:
"Can you tell me what have you done and learned yesterday in
your house?
"The youth answered, "I cleaned my mother's hand, and also
finished cleaning all the remaining clothes'
The Director asked, “Please tell me your feelings."

The youth said,
“Number 1: I know now what is appreciation. Without my
mother, there would not be the successful me today.
Number 2: By working together and helping my mother, only now
I realize how difficult and tough it is to get something done.

of family relationship”.
The director said, "This is what I am looking for to be my Manager.
I want to recruit a person who can appreciate the help of others,
a person who knows the sufferings of others, to get things done,
and a person who would not put money as his only goal in life.
You are hired”. Later on, this young person worked very hard, and
received the respect of his subordinates. Every employee worked
diligently with him, and as a team. The company's performance
improved tremendously.
A child, who has been protected and habitually given whatever he
wanted, would develop ‘entitlement mentality’, and would always
put himself first. He
would be ignorant
of his parent's
efforts. When
he starts work,
he assumes that
every person must
listen to him, and
when he becomes
a manager, he
would never know
the sufferings of his employees and would always blame others.
For these kind of people, who may be good academically, may
be successful for a while, but eventually would not feel a sense
of achievement. He will grumble and be full of hatred and fight
for more. If we are this kind of protective parents, are we really
showing love, or are we destroying the kid instead? You can let
your kids live in a big house, eat a good meal, learn piano, watch
a big screen TV. But when you are cutting grass, please let them
experience it. After a meal, let them wash their plates and bowls
together with their brothers and sisters. It is not because you do
not have money to hire a maid, but it is because you want to love
them in a right way. You want them to understand, no matter
how rich their parents are, one day their hair will grow grey, same
as the mother of that young person. The most important thing
is our kids learn how to appreciate the effort and experience the
difficulty and learn the ability to work with others to get things
done.

2010 marked the 39th Year of formation of United Arab Emirates,
as we go back in time and learn the history of the county that we
are living in.
In the early 1960s, oil was discovered in Abu Dhabi, an event that led
to quick unification calls made by UAE sheikdoms. Sheikh Zayed
bin Sultan Al Nahyan became ruler of Abu Dhabi in 1966 and the
British started losing their oil investments and contracts to U.S.
Oil Companies. The sheikhs of the emirates then decided to form
a council to coordinate matters between
them and took over the development office.
They formed the Trucial States Council, and
appointed Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum's
legal advisor, as Secretary General and Legal
Advisor to the Council. The council was
terminated once the United Arab Emirates
was formed.
In 1968, the United Kingdom announced its
decision, reaffirmed in March 1971, to end
the treaty relationships with the seven Trucial
Sheikhdoms which had been together with

Bahrain and Qatar, under British protection. The nine attempted
to form a union of Arab Emirates, but by mid-1971 they were still
unable to agree on terms of union, even though the British treaty
relationship was to expire in December of that year.
Bahrain became independent in August, and Qatar in September
1971. When the British-Trucial Sheikhdoms treaty expired on
December 1, 1971, they became fully independent. The rulers
of Abu Dhabi and Dubai decided to form a union between their
two emirates independently, prepare a
constitution, con then call the rulers of the other
five emirates to a meeting and offer them
the opportunity to join. It was also agreed
between bet the two that the constitution be
written wr by December 2, 1971. On that date,
at at tthe
Dubai Guesthouse Palace, four other
Emirates Em agreed to enter into a union called
the United Arab Emirates.Ras Al-Khaimah
joined joi later, in early 1972.

To create an archive of old messages in Outlook
separate from the PST file.
Select File | Data File Management from the menu in Outlook.
� Click Add....
� Choose the desired format. Unless you may need to access the
data with Outlook 2002 or earlier directly, it is safe to highlight
Office Outlook Personal Folders File (.pst).
� Click OK.
� Enter the desired file name.
� Click OK.
Type the archive PST file's desired name under Name:
Again, it makes sense to name your archive after its contents
(a year's worth of mail in my case). Optionally, protect access
with a password.
� Click OK.
� Then click Close.
� Move Mail to the Archive
To populate your newly created archive PST:
� Drag and drop entire folders to the root folder newly
appearing under Mail Folders.

This is handy if you already have an "Archive" folder that
contains, say, all of last year's mail. Just drop it unto the archive
PST.
Alternatively, to archive individual items:
� Click on the root folder named after your archive PST under
Mail Folders with the right mouse button.
� Select New Folder... from the menu.
� Type the desired folder name.
Make sure Mail and Post Items is selected under
Folder contains: if you want to archive emails.
For archiving other items, choose the appropriate category.
� Click OK.
� Drag and drop individual or groups of emails onto the newly
created folder.
To move all mail preceding a certain date in a
folder (or nested folders):
� Select File | Archive... from the menu in Outlook.
� Make sure Archive this folder and all subfolders: is selected.
Highlight the desired folder.
� Specify the date emails prior to which (say, this year's January
1) you want to move under Archive items older than: __.
� Use the Browse... button to select the archive PST file created
above.
� Click OK
� Close the Archive PST File
After you have archived all items, you can close
the PST file in Outlook:
� Click on the root folder of your archive PST under Mail
Folders with the right mouse button.
� Select Close "___" from the menu.
� Access Mail from a Closed Archive PST File
To retrieve messages from an archive PST file
you have closed:
� Select File | Open | Outlook Data File... from the menu in
Outlook.
� Highlight the desired archive PST file.
� Click Open.
The PST file and its folders will appear under Mail Folders.

The Shell Oil Company recently issued a warning after three
incidents in which mobile phones (cell phones) ignited fumes
during fuelling operations.
In the first case, the phone was placed on the car's trunk lid
during fuelling; it rang and the ensuing fire destroyed the car
and the gasoline pump.
In the second, an individual
suffered severe burns to his
face when fumes ignited
as he answered a call while
refuelling his car.
And in the third, an
individual suffered burns
to the thigh and groin as
fumes ignited when the
phone, which was in his
pocket, rang while he was
fuelling his car.
Mobile Phones can ignite fuel or fumes. Mobile phones that light
up when switched on or when they ring release enough energy to
provide a spark for ignition. They should not be used in filling
stations, or when fuelling lawn mowers, boat, etc. They should
not be used, or should be turned off, around other materials that
generate flammable or explosive fumes or dust, (i.e., solvents,
chemicals, gases, grain dust, etc...).
To sum it up, here are the Four Rules for Safe Refuelling:
1) Turn off engine.
2) Don't smoke.

3) Don't use your cell phone - leave it inside the vehicle or turn
it off.
4) Don't re-enter your vehicle during fuelling.
Bob Renkes of Petroleum Equipment Institute is working on a
campaign to try and make people aware of fires as a result of
static electricity' at gas pumps. His company has researched 150
cases of these fires.
His results were very surprising:
1) Out of 150 cases, almost all of them were women.
2) Almost all cases involved the person getting back in their
vehicle while the nozzle was still pumping gas. When finished,
they went back to pull the nozzle out and the fire started, as a
result of static.
3) Most had their rubber-soled shoes on.
4) Most men never get back in their vehicle until completely
finished. This is why they are seldom involved in these types of
fires.

a bowling tournament for their Team Members.
The activity dubbed as “AE and Tatweer Fun Bowl” was held
at Al Jazira Sports Club, Airport Road, Abu Dhabi.
The Fun bowl offered AE team members an opportunity to
showcase their bowling prowess and camaraderie. Bowlers
were divided into team of 4 to compete 2 set of games. Scores
from the 2 games were tabulated for awarding the Highest

The team of Rekha Dayalal, Robbinson Mathew, Mohammed
Farooq and Mujeeb Abdul Rahman was awarded as the
highest scoring team. Among the team members who

Player of the fun bowl.
