<strong>Application</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>inclusion</strong> on the Ngati Kuri Electoral Roll and the Ngati Kuri Iwi RegisterThe High Court have determined that new elections must be held to elect five replacement negotiators to representNgati Kuri in its treaty of Waitangi claims and eleven replacement Ngati Kuri Trust Board members.Even though you are presently on the Ngati Kuri Electoral Roll and Iwi Register, the Judge has ruled that all those Iwimembers who wish to vote in these elections and participate in the Special General Meeting, to be held in Te Hapuaon 23 August 2008 must re-enrol.Full details of name, address, date of birth and whakapapa must be included. If the application is whangai, sufficientin<strong>for</strong>mation to enable the application to be decided having regard to the matters stated in Clause 4, Section XVIII ofAppendix B of the Deed of Trust.The Judge has directed that a person may be enrolled on the Ngati Kuri Electoral Roll as a voter in only one of thethree constituencies.a) The Te Hapua constituency. The applicant must have had his or her main place of residence within thecommunity of Te Hapua (within a radius of 5 km of the Te Reo Mihi Marae) <strong>for</strong> the six month be<strong>for</strong>e theapplication ie be<strong>for</strong>e 23 February 2008.b) The Muriwhenua constituency. The applicant must have had his or her main place of residence north of theline from the northern shore of the Whangapae Harbour ( on the West Coast) directly east to the Maunga -Taniwha Rangesand thence across to the southern shore of the Mangonui Harbour on the East Coast.c) The General constituency. This constituency represents beneficiaries residing anywhere else in Aotearoa.As Returning Officer, I will be consulting Ngati Kuri kaumatua and kuia to assist in confirming <strong>for</strong> the ElectoralRoll, the correct constituency.The completed <strong>for</strong>ms will be <strong>for</strong>warded to the Ngati Kuri Trust Board Inc to update their resources when theelections and the SGM are completed.
