歡迎辭 我們熱切歡迎大家蒞臨首屆香港國際藝術展。是次展覽乃香港愈十年來首個真正的國際 藝術博覽會,共邀請了來自20個國家超過100家優秀畫廊參與,展示20及21世紀豐富的藝 術作品,為亞洲提供欣賞世界各地多元藝術的平台。此外,展會期間將舉辦一連串相關的 專題展覽、特別活動及教育講座,務求令到出席展會的每一位來賓都享受是次的藝術展並 啟發他們。 藝術展除了擔當藝術交易場的角色,亦促進了藝術上的探討和辯論。我們很榮幸得到亞洲 藝術文獻庫(AAA)的支持,率領藝術家、策展人和收藏家在展會期間舉辦一系列名 《香港對話》的藝術座談會。亞洲藝術文獻庫更聯同香港中文大學於國際博物館日(5月17 日)舉辦名為《時移世易:博物館與文化欲望》的大型國際性研討會,以探索博物館在21世 紀的角色轉變。 是次藝術展的確令人興奮及期待,其中由馮美瑩小姐策劃的香港新晉藝術家作品展更是展 會的特別呈獻。《虛像》將匯集香港新生代藝術家激動人心之作,在一眾國際畫廊的圍繞 下,於會場的中央地帶展出。 我們非常感謝所有支持展會發展的合作夥伴,特別是首席贊助商 Lehman Brothers。我們 亦由衷感謝榮譽贊助人鄧永鏘爵士、展覽諮詢委員會、參與的畫廊及每一位來賓。 我們誠盼您欣賞是次展覽,並期待您於明年的5月13至17日再度光臨香港國際藝術展。 Magnus Renfrew Stephanie Dieckvoss 展覽總監 展覽總監(歐洲及美國) Welcome to ART <strong>HK</strong> 08 We are delighted to welcome you all to the inaugural ART <strong>HK</strong>, the first truly international art fair to be staged in <strong>Hong</strong> <strong>Kong</strong> in over a decade. With over 100 galleries from 20 countries showing the very best of 20th and 21st century art, ART <strong>HK</strong> 08 provides an art fair for Asia that reflects the diversity of artistic production from all over the world. In addition, we have organised surrounding exhibitions, events and talks which we hope will make your visit to the <strong>Fair</strong> and your stay in <strong>Hong</strong> <strong>Kong</strong> a truly inspiring and enjoyable one. More than just a place for buying and selling art, art fairs can also act as a catalyst for discussion and debate. We are delighted therefore that Asia <strong>Art</strong> Archive (AAA) will be presenting a programme of talks by leading artists, curators and collectors entitled <strong>Hong</strong> <strong>Kong</strong> Conversations. In conjunction with the Chinese University of <strong>Hong</strong> <strong>Kong</strong> the AAA will also be staging a conference that coincides with <strong>International</strong> Museum Day on 17 May - Shifting Sites: Cultural Desire and the Museum addresses the changing role of museums in the 21st century. As a reflection of our excitement at launching the <strong>Fair</strong> in <strong>Hong</strong> <strong>Kong</strong>, ART <strong>HK</strong> 08 presents a feature exhibition of work by emerging local artists curated by Sabrina Fung. Mirage brings together the most exciting work by a new generation of up-and-coming artists from <strong>Hong</strong> <strong>Kong</strong>, located at the heart of the <strong>Fair</strong> and surrounded by leading galleries from the city. We are grateful to our lead sponsor, Lehman Brothers, for their strong support, and indeed to all our other partners for their significant involvement in helping in the development of the <strong>Fair</strong>.
