The funds have been designatedfor the new BECK–ODEGAARD Wing addition. Roughly$400K has been raised to date with plans to break ground thisspring with Gateway Building Systems Inc. Another $350K will beneeded to complete the project.

The North Dakota Pilot for a Dayprogram honors children who are fighting or haveovercome a life-threatening illness or condition.The Northern Lights Boy Scout Leadership LuncheonMarch 20, 2013The Northern Lights Boy Scout LeadershipLuncheon was held to create awareness forscouting and recognize key sponsors. Thefeatured speaker was Maj. James Cusic III,who served more than 22 years in the AirForce and traveled the world in countlesstraining and real-world missions. Cusicwas in his Pentagon office September 11,2001, when American Airlines Flight 77 hitthe building. He is credited with saving thelives of three people and supporting twoothers until they could be evacuated.The awards Cusic has received for his heroic actions include the Air Force CommendationMedal, the Certificate of Merit from the American Red Cross and the Boy Scouts of AmericaHonor Medal with Crossed Palms, which has only been awarded 277 times since 1938.

The 4th Annual National Safety Seminar included topics aboutlocal safety issues, loss of control , and the number one aviation fatal factor-human error. Theseminar was led by FAA representative Jay Flowers.Young Eagle flights followed the seminar along with demonstrations by the Valley RC Modelers club.
