Miller was honored by the North DakotaAeronautics Commission for his 27 years of service on the commission, many of which he served asChairman of the organization. The reception was hosted by the North Dakota Aviation Council.Gehler Receives North Dakota Pilots Association ScholarshipThe North Dakota Pilots Association awarded a scholarship to Fargo Air Museum volunteer, DamienGehler, at the 2013 Upper Midwest Aviation Symposium Awards Banquet. A private donor steppedforward and matched this award. Gehler has been volunteering at the museum since he was 11 andplans to take flight lessons at the Fargo Jet Center this summer.Photos by Steven Carvell

The FAMaircraft committeebrought thisaircraft in todisplay regionalhistory. Bernard Pietenpol of Cherry Grove, MN wasconsidered the “Father of Home built Aircraft.”March 6, 2013The Fargo Air Museumheld a NASA “3-2-1 LiftOff” workshop for ten areaeducators in March. Areaelementary educatorswere introduced to theInternational Space Stationand the tools available forcurriculum development. Therockets and other exercisesintegrated mathematics,technology and Englishlanguage arts skills. The classgained instructional skilltraining in the data collection,exploration, interpretationand more to use in theclassroom.Susan Kohler was the guestinstructor for the in-serviceworkshop. Kohler currentlyworks for NASA and thePennsylvania State Universityas the Aerospace EducationService Project educationSpecialist for the GlennResearch Center in Cleveland,Ohio.
