• Do not use outdoors.• Never block the air vents while operating the treadmill.Keep the air vents clean and free of lint, hair, or anythingthat might impede the free flow of air.• Do not attempt to service the treadmill yourself except tofollow the maintenance instructions found in this manual.• Never drop or insert objects into any opening. Keephands away from moving parts.• Keep all electrical components, such as the powercord and I/O switch, away from liquids to prevent shock.• Do not set anything on the handrails, display console,or hood. Place liquids, magazines, and books in theappropriate receptacles.DANGERThe treadmill must be connected to adedicated, grounded circuit. SeeGrounding Instructions.• Wear proper exercise clothing and shoes for yourworkout and avoid loose clothing. Do not wear shoeswith heels or leather soles. Check the soles of yourshoes and remove any dirt and embedded stones. Tielong hair back.• Use care when getting on or off the treadmill. Alwaysgrasp the handrail when stepping on the running beltand keep the initial speed at or below 1 mile per hour(mph) or 1 kilometer per hour (kph). Never step off thetreadmill while the running belt is moving.• Before the running belt begins moving (before yourworkout), and after it stops (at the end of your workout),straddle the belt by placing your feet firmly on the rightand left staging platforms.• Keep your body and head facing forward. Never attemptto turn around on the treadmill.• The safety clip must be attached at waist level beforeyour workout. A lanyard connects the safety clip tothe red STOP button. If you encounter difficulties, astrong tug on the lanyard stops the running belt.• Do not rock the unit. Do not stand on the handrail(s),display console, or hood.• Do not overexert yourself or work to exhaustion. If youfeel any pain or abnormal symptoms, stop your workoutimmediately and consult your physician.• When the treadmill is not in use, disconnect the unit byturning the power switch to the Off (O) position, andthen remove the power plug from the power outlet.IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONSOwner’s <strong>Manual</strong>: Important Safety Instructions 2
