By passing this new proposed legislation, you would be doing a disservice to Daniel andDavid and thousands of Connecticut children just like them. Because these boys who areunder 6 years old were given emergency shelter at Kids in Crisis, appropriate care wasgiven and careful consideration was made for their next placement. They could not gohome. But armed with the wealth of information we were quickly able to uncover, it wasdetermined that the boys needed long-term therapeutic foster care. An appropriate familywas identified. How are Daniel and David today? They are potty trained, walking normally, emotionallymore stable and definitely more communicative. Their foster parents know the full rangeof what they are dealing with, ultimately giving them the chance to parent moreeffectively and secure future success for both boys.Without emergency shelter care for children under the age of six, what would happen tothese boys?Thank you.One Salem Street, Cos Cob, CT 06807203.327.KIDSwww.kidsincrisis.orgLicensed by the Connecticut Department of Children and FamiliesA United Way Agency
