By simplifying access to the latest property andinvestment management technology, clients with limited IT resources or complex operationalneeds can benefit from the efficiencies that come with <strong>Yardi</strong> SaaS and <strong>Yardi</strong> SaaS Select.Routine Maintenance with All SaaS ModelsApplication servers and Web servers are rebooted on a rotating b<strong>as</strong>is to ensure that each serveris rebooted at le<strong>as</strong>t once every other day. Rebooting the application servers in this mannerensures that at le<strong>as</strong>t half of the servers at a data center are always online and available whilethe other servers are rebooting. Datab<strong>as</strong>e and report servers are rebooted weekly.<strong>Yardi</strong> Cloud <strong>Service</strong>s staff monitors service packs and hot fixes from all vendors whose softwareand hardware are used in the cloud environment. The procedure for implementing thesepatches is <strong>as</strong> follows:Validate the patch <strong>by</strong> implementing it in a test environment.Implement the patch in a limited Beta environment (requires approval from <strong>Yardi</strong> Cloud<strong>Service</strong>s management).Apply the patch, on a rotating b<strong>as</strong>is, to the production environment (requires approvalfrom <strong>Yardi</strong> Cloud <strong>Service</strong>s management).IT staff are automatically notifiedif system performance falls belowdefined thresholds.In order to meet service level goals, the <strong>Yardi</strong> Cloud <strong>Service</strong>s staff uses specialized tools to trackperformance-related statistics, including memory utilization, CPU, and disk space. If acceptableparameters for performance (<strong>as</strong> defined in the <strong>Service</strong> Level Agreement) are not met, a systemalarm notifies the appropriate <strong>Yardi</strong> Cloud <strong>Service</strong>s staff members with a wireless alert. As anadditional failsafe to ensure high system availability, the <strong>Yardi</strong> Cloud <strong>Service</strong>s staff performs aweekly testing routine to validate system accessibility.3
