At £2.00 a pint, I did have ahalf and it was oh so strong, nice taste butnot while driving!! Anyway I was here forthe music, I was looking forward to seeingThe Surfin Turnips play live, having not solong ago been given a copy of their CD.Not so they had to cancel due to a familyproblem, and had been replaced by‘Squirrel Catapult’ who I had seen advertisedbefore but was thinking young punkrock band and what was a squirrel Catapult?Go into Google on-line, it will enlightenyou!! If nothing else. Right it turns outthat Squirrel Catapult are singer / songwriterNick Grimsley on guitar with bassist NeilRichards both experienced musicians, whoteamed up last year as part of an originalsrock band and the pair have taken some oftheir own music in a different direction withan acoustic interpretation of their originalsongs. I met Neil who explained how thename came about, and of course when Ireturned home went into Google. They areas a duo still evolving and for more info goto -www.myspace.com/squirrelcatapultNext on was ‘Ben Pang’ who is an accomplishedguitarist singer / songwriter fromSEPTEMBER ‘10 4HICKIES MUSIC STORE153 Friar Street, Reading01189 575 771www.hickies.co.ukHICKIES Lowmans Way,Tiverton, Devon EX16 6SR01884 257 211Weston-Super-Mare who was partnered byWill on guitar. Shawn McBride onSaxophone, Robin ?
