DR. RICHARD DU FOUR LEADERSHIP <strong>SCHOLARSHIP</strong> (Appendix H)Dr. Richard P. DuFour demonstrated extraordinary leadership in his 19 years as Principaland Superintendent of <strong>Stevenson</strong> <strong>High</strong> School. This $2,000 scholarship, funded by the <strong>Stevenson</strong>Foundation, seeks to honor a graduating senior with extraordinary leadership skills.THE GERI GETLIN FOUNDATION (Appendix I)The Geri Getlin Foundation will be awarding a $2,000 scholarship, $500/year for four years.The Geri Getlin Foundation was established in honor of Geri Getlin who lost her battle with cancerin 1996. Geri was an advocate of the performing arts and through her initiative, she wrote anddirected four successful theater productions in the Buffalo Grove Community. It was the successof these productions that laid the foundation for several of the Fine Arts programs found in thecommunity today as well as assisted with the purchase of several computers for School District 96.Geri believed in using her talents to give back to the community. Through The Geri GetlinFoundation Scholarship we are able to keep that dream alive and provide financial assistance sothat other local talents can pursue their dreams.*It will be the student’s responsibility to contact the foundation each year in order to receive thescholarship money.ORCHESTRA PARENTS ASSOCIATION STRING ORCHESTRA <strong>SCHOLARSHIP</strong> (AppendixJ)This $500 scholarship will be awarded to a senior orchestra member in order to further theirpersonal music education in a 2- or 4-year accredited college. Majoring in music is not arequirement for this scholarship.AAUW <strong>SCHOLARSHIP</strong>The local chapter of the American Association of University Women will award a $500scholarship to an outstanding woman graduate who: has exemplary academic achievement; isplanning a career in science, technology, engineering or math; and who has made significantcontributions to <strong>Stevenson</strong> and to her communityWILLIAM E. PETERSON PUBLIC SERVICE <strong>SCHOLARSHIP</strong> (Appendix K)This $500 award will be given to the graduating senior who has been a strong student,demonstrated leadership and commitment to school and community service and is planning acareer in public service.EDWARD A. DILLON MEMORIAL <strong>SCHOLARSHIP</strong> (Appendix L)A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who has maintained a 3.0 orbetter GPA and will be attending Bradley University in the fall of 2009. Ed was a 1998 graduate of<strong>Stevenson</strong>. He was an honor student and actively involved in the AV Department, Journalism andYearbook. Ed graduated from Bradley in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and went on toreceive a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice from Boston University in 2005. Ed was a PoliceInvestigator until his passing in 2007. This scholarship is sponsored by family and friends inmemory of Edward A. Dillon to recognize and honor his commitment to the importance ofeducation.DR. TIMOTHY KANOLD <strong>SCHOLARSHIP</strong> (Appendix M)Dr. Kanold served the <strong>Stevenson</strong> <strong>High</strong> School Community both as a leader in ourMathematics Division and also as Superintendent. The Kanold Scholarship is a $1,000 award to agraduating senior who is currently enrolled in AP Calculus AB, with a mathematics grade pointaverage of 3.25 or higher, who has a sense of service to the community and who is pursuing amath-related career.


OWP/P <strong>SCHOLARSHIP</strong> (Appendix N)OWP/P is a corporation providing integrated architecture, interior design, engineering, andconsulting services. This firm, who has worked with <strong>Stevenson</strong> since 1986, is offering a $1,000scholarship to a graduating senior who is interested in pursuing a career in architecture, interiordesign, or other related careers in the architectural field.STEVENSON SUPPORT STAFF ASSOCIATION <strong>SCHOLARSHIP</strong> (Appendix O)A $500 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who is planning his or her postsecondaryexperience to begin at any certified non-four year institution – community college,trade school, or apprenticeship experience. Student chosen must have positively pursued his orher academic studies while here at <strong>Stevenson</strong>, have identified a clear career goal which he or shewill follow after graduation, and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0. This GPA should reflecta positive improvement or consistent effort over the four years of high school.TAMARAK DAY CAMP & COUNTRY DAY SCHOOL <strong>SCHOLARSHIP</strong> FOR CHILDDEVELOPMENT & EDUCATION (Appendix P)This one $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student intending to pursue a career inyouth development: education, advocacy, youth services, etc. Criteria for selection will be:experience working with children, 2 essays, academic achievement and a letter of support from thefaculty.APTAKISIC-TRIPP SCHOOL DISTRICT 102 “UNIVERSAL VALUES OF INTEGRITY”<strong>SCHOLARSHIP</strong> (Appendix Q)District 102 Student Corporation and Partners for World Class Business and Education willaward three $500 scholarships to any <strong>Stevenson</strong> senior who graduated from Aptakisic Junior <strong>High</strong>School and who have continued to demonstrate the district’s “Universal Values of Integrity”.These scholarships may be applied toward any 2- or 4-year college, trade or technical school ormilitary training.Criteria for selection will be: achievement in academics and co-curricular areas,leadership/service experience and essay.JEFFREY C.
