ElectricityThe voltage in Sri Lanka is 230 volts, 50 Hz. <strong>Participants</strong> with o<strong>the</strong>r voltage requirements<strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir appliances should bring universal adapter and / or converter kit.8. Foreign Exchange and BankingSri Lankan currency is Sri Lankan Rupee (LKR), and internationally recognizedcurrencies and traveller cheque is exchangeable at airport, banks, etc. The organizer willprovide necessary help to participants <strong>for</strong> matters related to <strong>for</strong>eign currency exchange.The exchange rate is approximately USD 1.00 = LKR 132.9. Financial and Administrative ArrangementsIn those cases where <strong>the</strong> participation costs are borne by UNAPCAEM, its financialresponsibilities will be limited to meeting travel expenses as indicated above. All o<strong>the</strong>rexpenses are <strong>the</strong> sole responsibility <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> participants <strong>the</strong>mselves, <strong>for</strong> example:• All expenses in <strong>the</strong> home country incidental to travel abroad, including expenditure<strong>for</strong> visa, medical examination, inoculations and o<strong>the</strong>r such miscellaneous items andinternal travel to and from <strong>the</strong> airport <strong>of</strong> arrival and departure in <strong>the</strong> home country;• Salary and related allowances <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> participants during <strong>the</strong> period <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> event;• Cost incurred by participants in respect <strong>of</strong> insurance, accident insurance, medical billsor hospitalization fees in connection with attending <strong>the</strong> event;• Compensation in <strong>the</strong> event <strong>of</strong> death or disability <strong>of</strong> participants in connection withattending <strong>the</strong> event;• Any loss <strong>of</strong> or damage to personal property <strong>of</strong> participants while attending <strong>the</strong> eventor losses or damages claimed by third parties as a result <strong>of</strong> any negligence on <strong>the</strong> part<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> participants;• Any o<strong>the</strong>r expenses <strong>of</strong> a personal nature, not directly related to <strong>the</strong> purpose <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>event.10.
