4. A full day DSA of $78 will be provided.For accommodations on 23-24 October at the meeting venue in Kandy, UNAPCAEM willcover lodging and food, and participants are responsible for settling their own non-roomhotel bills (personal expenses such as room service, mini-bar, use of telephone, laundry,Internet, business centre, etc.). As per UN rules and regulations, 20% DSA will beprovided.On 25 October, all participants will leave for a field trip and return to the Golden StarBeach Hotel by bus for an overnight stay before departure for home on 26 October.Participants are responsible for lodging and food during the field trip. Medical Service and First AidPlease note that medical insurance is NOT provided to participants neither by
UNAPCAEM nor the host government, and all medical-related costs, if incurred, shall beborne by the participants.7. ElectricityThe voltage in Sri Lanka is 230 volts, 50 Hz. Participants with other voltage requirementsfor their appliances should bring universal adapter and / or converter kit.8. Foreign Exchange and BankingSri Lankan currency is Sri Lankan Rupee (LKR), and internationally recognizedcurrencies and traveller cheque is exchangeable at airport, banks, etc. The organizer willprovide necessary help to participants for matters related to foreign currency exchange.The exchange rate is approximately USD 1.00 = LKR 132.9. Financial and Administrative ArrangementsIn those cases where the participation costs are borne by UNAPCAEM, its financialresponsibilities will be limited to meeting travel expenses as indicated above. All otherexpenses are the sole responsibility of the participants themselves, for example:• All expenses in the home country incidental to travel abroad, including expenditurefor visa, medical examination, inoculations and other such miscellaneous items andinternal travel to and from the airport of arrival and departure in the home country;• Salary and related allowances for the participants during the period of the event;• Cost incurred by participants in respect of insurance, accident insurance, medical billsor hospitalization fees in connection with attending the event;• Compensation in the event of death or disability of participants in connection withattending the event;• Any loss of or damage to personal property of participants while attending the eventor losses or damages claimed by third parties as a result of any negligence on the partof the participants;• Any other expenses of a personal nature, not directly related to the purpose of theevent.10.
