Students will enjoy a week of cultural wonder in beautifulProvence as part of the Middle Years Programme.Activities• Orienteering, nature study at the chateau• Excursion to Roussillon, including a guided visit to theConservatoire des Ocres• Sports and evening ActivitiesAccommodationStudents will be staying in rooms with 3 to 12 students (boys and girls separately) and will be supervised byteachers during the day and evening.FoodStudents will have a picnic lunch during the day trip to Roussillon and hot lunches at the chateau. In theevening we will enjoy a dinner together. We will do our best to accommodate students with dietaryrestrictions. Please bear in mind that food is an important part of the French cultural experience.
What to BringStudents are responsible for the transportation of their own belongings, including loading and unloading themon trains and coaches. They should only bring what they can carry themselves (see the list on the followingpage.) Spending money is limited to 30 Euros. Students may bring a mobile phone; calls home will be made inthe evening. Checklist:Comfortable Clothing: (Be prepared for rain and cool temperatures).• Sweatpants/jeans (+ an extra pair)• Underwear (for every day!)• Sweatshirt / pullover (1-2)• T-shirts / shorts• Several pairs of socks• Sneakers (bring an extra pair of shoes in case of dampness)• Strong shoes or boots• Jacket - rainproof and warm• Pyjamas• Indoor slippersToiletries:• Toothbrush and toothpaste• Soap• Deodorant, hygienic supplies• A towel• Shampoo and hairdryer if necessary• Sunscreen - in case of good weather• Any other personal needsOther:• Small backpack (“sac à dos”) big enough to hold an A4 folder• cap / hat• Water bottle• Normal school pencil-case and colored pencils• Flashlight and batteries• Camera (your responsibility)• Book for quiet time• Plastic bags for wet or dirty clothes on the way back.• Small notebook for journal / writing activities+ Lunch (to be eaten on the train on Monday)Please clearly mark all property, clothing, etc. with your child’s name.Please note: Bedding sheets will be provided, but students need to bring their own towels. Backpacksand shoulder bags are preferable; suitcases should be able to be wheeled. Students are responsible forthe transport of their own luggage. Ipods / music players and electronic games can be used on the train only,but will not be allowed during the week. The school will not accept responsibility for the loss of these devices.Students can also bring card games (Uno, etc) for train travel.
