REAC ports (A,B,SPLIT/BACKUP)fig.ConsInJackGuide.epsfig.REACPortGuide.epsThese are balanced XLR-3-31 female input jacks for inputting analogaudio signals from microphones or line level equipment.Wiring diagrams for these jacks are shown below. Makeconnections after first checking the wiring diagrams of otherequipment you intend to connect.fig.XLRJackInput.epsHOT GNDCOLD+PHANTOM[+48V/14mA]• REAC A, B portsThese are RJ45 connectors for connecting input/output unitssuch as the S-1608, S-0816, or S-4000S via Cat5e Ethernet cables.These connectors support Cat5e Ethernet cables up to 100meters long. If you need a longer connection, we recommendthat you use the optional S-OPT.• SPLIT/BACKUP portThis is used as a backup connection for the REAC A port, or forsplit connection. You can also use it for multitrack recording ona PC in which you’ve installed the REAC driver.Explanation of the panelsBy default, the CONSOLE INPUT jacks are patched to CH33–CH40.When connection cables with resistors are used, the volumelevel of equipment connected to the inputs (CONSOLE INPUT,STEREO IN, TALKBACK MIC IN) may be low. If this happens,use connection cables that do not contain resistors.2. CONSOLE OUTPUT jacksfig.ConsOutJackGuide.epsFor details on backup connections and split connections, refer to“REAC applications” (p. 157).The REAC A and B ports and the SPLIT/BACKUP port have REACindicators that show the REAC communication status. The state ofthe REAC indicator has the following significance.StatusUnlitLitBlinkingExplanationNo connection with a REAC device has been established.A backup connection or split connection with aREAC device has been established.Connected normally with a REAC device.These are balanced XLR-3-32 male output jacks for outputtinganalog audio signals.4.
