Information Processing Standards (FIPS) or FederalTelecommunication Standards (FED-STDS), whichare cited by ordering activities, shall be responded topromptly by the Contractor.13.1 FEDERAL INFORMATION PROCESSINGSTANDARDS PUBLICATIONS (FIPSPUBS):Information Technology products under this<strong>Schedule</strong> that do not conform to Federal InformationProcessing Standards (FIPS) should not beacquired unless a waiver has been granted inaccordance with the applicable "FIPS Publication."Federal Information Processing StandardsPublications (FIPS PUBS) are issued by the U.S.Department of Commerce, National Institute ofStandards and Technology (NIST), pursuant toNational Security Act. Information concerning theiravailability and applicability should be obtained fromthe National Technical Information Service (NTIS),5285 Port Royal Road, Springfield, Virginia 22161.FIPS PUBS include voluntary standards when theseare adopted for Federal use. Individual orders forFIPS PUBS should be referred to the NTIS SalesOffice, and orders for subscription service should bereferred to the NTIS Subscription Officer, both at theabove address, or telephone number (703) 487-4650.13.2 FEDERAL TELECOMMUNICATIONSTANDARDS (FED-STDS):Telecommunication products under this<strong>Schedule</strong> that do not conform to FederalTelecommunication Standards (FED-STDS) shouldnot be acquired unless a waiver has been granted inaccordance with the applicable "FED-STD." FederalTelecommunication Standards are issued by theU.S. Department of Commerce, National Institute ofStandards and Technology (NIST), pursuant toNational Security Act. Ordering information andinformation concerning the availability of FED-STDSshould be obtained from the <strong>GSA</strong>, Federal SupplyService, Specification Section, 470 East L’EnfantPlaza, Suite 8100, SW, Washington, DC 20407,telephone number (202)619-8925. Please include aself-addressed mailing label when requestinginformation by mail. Information concerning theirapplicability can be obtained by writing or calling theU.S. Department of Commerce, National Institute ofStandards and Technology, Gaithersburg, MD20899, telephone number (301)975-2833.14. CONTRACTOR TASKS / SPECIALREQUIREMENTS (C-FSS-370) (NOV 2001)(a) Security Clearances: The Contractor maybe required to obtain/possess varying levels ofsecurity clearances in the performance of ordersissued under this contract. All costs associated withobtaining/possessing such security clearancesshould be factored into the price offered under theMultiple Award <strong>Schedule</strong>.(b) Travel: The Contractor may be required totravel in performance of orders issued under thiscontract. Allowable travel and per diem charges aregoverned by Pub .L. 99-234 and FAR Part 31, andare reimbursable by the ordering agency or can bepriced as a fixed price item on orders placed underthe Multiple Award <strong>Schedule</strong>. The IndustrialFunding Fee does NOT apply to travel and per diemcharges.NOTE: Refer to FAR Part 31.205-46 Travel Costs,for allowable costs that pertain to official companybusiness travel in regards to this contract.(c) Certifications, Licenses and Accreditations:As a commercial practice, the Contractor may berequired to obtain/possess any variety ofcertifications, licenses and accreditations for specificFSC/service code classifications offered. All costsassociated with obtaining/ possessing suchcertifications, licenses and accreditations should befactored into the price offered under the MultipleAward <strong>Schedule</strong> program.(d) Insurance: As a commercial practice, theContractor may be required to obtain/possessinsurance coverage for specific FSC/service codeclassifications offered. All costs associated withobtaining/possessing such insurance should befactored into the price offered under the MultipleAward <strong>Schedule</strong> program.(e) Personnel: The Contractor may be requiredto provide key personnel, resumes or skill categorydescriptions in the performance of orders issuedunder this contract. Ordering activities may requireagency approval of additions or replacements to keypersonnel.(f) Organizational Conflicts of Interest: Wherethere may be an organizational conflict of interest asdetermined by the ordering agency, the Contractor’sparticipation in such order may be restricted inaccordance with FAR Part 9.5.(g) Documentation/Standards: The Contractormay be requested to provide products or services inGS-35F-0140J www.newhorizons.com Page 6
