One blank will beapprox. 3 1 / 4 " long and the second will be 2 3 / 16 " long.2Drilling BlanksUsing a 10mm brad point or pen makers bit, drill ahole lengthwise through the center of each blank.See General Instructions for more information.3Gluing Blanks to TubesPrepare as described in the General Instructions.4Sanding Blanks to LengthPrepare as described in the General Instructions.5Mandrel PreparationMount the blanks and bushings on the lathe mandrel.Place a single lip bushing on the mandrel andslip the long blank over the bushing lip. Place thedouble lipped bushing on the mandrel, slipping thelip into the long blank. Place the short blank on themandrel followed by the remaining single lip bushing.Secure mandrel assembly with mandrel nut and6Turning The BlanksSee General Instructions for details. The diameterof each blank should match the bushing diameter.7Finishing The BlanksPrepare as described in the General Instructions.Mandrel8Pen AssemblyPen Top Assembly1. To ensure that the Clip/End Cap Assembly (I)will seat flush against the end of the blank, it isnecessary to file a small notch approximately3/ 16 " wide and 1 / 32 " deepinto one end of the shorttube, Tube #2 (G). Usinga small knife edge file, orcorner of a fine toothKerfsSquare,flat bottommetal working file, createtwo kerfs which define the3/ 16 " wide notch. Then,using the flat portion of the file remove the materialbetween the two kerfs until a small, square,flat bottom notch3/ 16 " wide and1/ 32 " deep is produced.

Press the Nib cap and Clip Assembly into theend of the previously notched short tube, Tube #2Executive Fountain and Roller Ball Parts(G). Be sure and align the clip so that it is pressedinto the square notched area of the tube.Pen Bottom Assembly1. Press Gold Coupler (B) into one end of long tube,Tube #1 (C). Press the Gold End Cap (D) into theother end of Tube #1. Insert the Roller Ball Spring (K), large diameterend first, into Tube #1. Insert the Roller Ball InkRefill (L) into Tube #1 then thread the Roller BallNib (J) onto Gold Coupler (B).Fountain Pen Final Assembly1. Firmly press the Ink Cartridge (F), nipple end first,into the Fountain Nib (A) until the cartridge is fullyseated. Thread the Fountain Nib/Cartridge assemblyinto Gold Coupler (B).9Cap Adjustments1. If the cap to your pen does not snap into placeand produce a nice fit against Gold Coupler (B) thewhite plastic nib cap needs to be adjusted. Adjustmentsare made by inserting the tip of a flat bladescrew driver into the white plastic nib cap and turningthe cap. If the fit is too tight, or the pen top isdifficult to get on and off, turn the white plastic nibcap counter clockwise (unthread the cap slightly fromthe stud).
