ACG Strathallan PreschoolInformation/Fees and Enrolment Form2013 - 2014PhilosophyACG Strathallan Preschool provides aquality early childhood education forchildren aged three months to five years.During these early years children acquirea variety of important skills, knowledgeand attitudes that will affect their abilityto learn, their personal development, theirrelationships with others and their futureparticipation in society.ACG Strathallan Preschool encourageschildren to see learning as both enjoyableand useful and provides a strong foundationfor their future intellectual, physical andsocial development.ProgrammeThe programme at ACG StrathallanPreschool provides the basis for theacquisition of basic skills in numeracy andliteracy and prepares children for successfullearning experiences in the future.For all children learning should be apleasurable experience.The Preschool programme reinforces andbuilds on the natural inclination to learningby offering varied, stimulating and enjoyableexperiences.Since oral language is the basis of literacy,there is an emphasis on language basedactivities that provide opportunities forthinking, problem solving and experimenting.Through opportunities to listen to andrespond to stories children are encouragedto attempt independent writing and reading.The Ministry of Education's Early ChildhoodCurriculum goals: Well-being, belonging,contribution, communication and explorationare incorporated into the daily programme.The Preschool operates in a purpose-built facility onthe ACG Strathallan Campus. Our Junior and Seniorareas each cater for 45 children and these, alongwith our Infant Centre, with 25 infants, compriseACG Strathallan Preschool.HoursThe Preschool is open weekdays from 7:30amto 5:30pm during school terms. Making an ApplicationTo make an application, please completethe enrolment form and forward it to ACGStrathallan Preschool. Please enclose anymaterial that may provide additional informationto support the application. A copy of the child’sNew Zealand birth certificate or passport isalso requested at the time of application.No fee is required to register an application.When to ApplyApplications may be considered at any timebut an offer of a place will always be subjectto places being available at the level sought.Enrolment InformationApplicants will normally be interviewed beforea place is offered, although this requirementmay be waived at the discretion of ACGStrathallan Preschool. We spend considerabletime making every effort to assess everyapplication fairly and in detail.InterviewsAn interview provides an opportunity to learnmore about each child and to assess how wellthe child is likely to fit into ACG StrathallanPreschool. It is also an opportunity to find outmore about ACG Strathallan Preschool.The interview will last about thirty minutesand will be with the Manager or another seniorstaff member.NotificationFamilies will usually be advised of the resultof their application within seven days of anyinterview. If a place is offered, acceptancemust be confirmed in writing.Open DaysACG Strathallan Preschool holds OpenDays each year. These provide prospectiveapplicants an opportunity to speak with staffand to view the facilities.P R E S C H O O L ENROLMENTContract of EnrolmentEnrolment is subject to availability of places.If ACG Strathallan Preschool reserves a placefor a child and offers enrolment, this Contractof Enrolment is binding as a contract on ACGStrathallan Preschool and the applicant/s. ThisContract shall be governed by and construedin accordance with the laws of New Zealand.Payment of FeesPayment of tuition fees may be made bypayment of one annual fee, three instalmentsor nine monthly instalments. Discounts applyto annual and three instalment payments,provided they are made in full by the due dates.The discounted annual fee must be paid infull by 1st February, while a discount for thethree instalment payments is applicable if paidrespectively by 1st February, 1st May and 1stAugust. Payment options include direct debit,cheque, eftpos, cash, electronic funds transferand credit card (American Express, Visa andMasterCard) (All credit card transactionsattract a 2% surcharge).The Board of Trustees may cancel the enrolmentof any child enrolled if tuition fees, course feesor other fees have not been paid by the datespecified. The Board may in its sole discretionremit or refund part or all of any fees paid, butdoes not undertake to do so whether in lieuJunior and Senior CentresContract of Enrolmentof notice or otherwise, on account of illness,quarantine or any other cause.All Fees are payable in full even if a child isabsent on leave.Advice of WithdrawalThe Manager should be advised in writingof any withdrawal from ACG StrathallanPreschool. Advice should be given at theearliest possible time and in any case at leastone month before it is effective. Tuition feesare payable until the end of the notice period.Where no notice is given, a fee to the amountof one month of the tuition fee will be charged,payable to ACG Strathallan Preschool in lieuof notice. Tuition fees will not normally berefunded, unless the Board determines in itssole discretion that there are circumstanceswhich warrant this. The Board may cancel theenrolment of any student who is absent fortwenty-one school days (in any one year) withno satisfactory explanation.LiabilityTo the fullest extent permitted by the ConsumerGuarantees Act 1993 or otherwise at law or inequity, ACG Strathallan Preschool shall underno circumstances be liable to the child or theapplicant/s or any other person for direct orindirect or consequential loss or damage ofPreschool Rates 2013any kind arising out of or attributable to anybreach by ACG Strathallan Preschool of itsobligations under the Contract of Enrolment,negligence on the part of ACG StrathallanPreschool or any act or thing done or not doneby ACG Strathallan Preschool. For the purposeof this Contract of Enrolment consequentialloss shall include (without limitation), loss ofincome or profit and loss or damage to personsor property.Obligation by ACG Strathallan PreschoolACG Strathallan Preschool undertakes toprovide tuition as set down from time to timein the prospectus. At times, it may also benecessary to close the roll in a level if it isdeemed to be full by the Board.Privacy ActThe information collected by ACG StrathallanPreschool during the enrolment process andduring the period in which the child is enrolledat ACG Strathallan Preschool is intended foruse in connection with the education andwell-being of the child and may be used by anyof the staff of ACG Strathallan Preschool orany consultant to ACG Strathallan Preschoolin connection with that purpose.
