A number of program enhancements and additions are in the development stage atany given time. On the other hand, Chesapeake anticipates no immediate deletions from its current credit program.Rather than becoming obsolete, programs are evolving to reflect changes in instructional delivery methodology, technology, and needs of the market.Recent data published by the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation relative to demand for skillsin top growth occupations for Maryland’s Upper Workforce Area suggests opportunities for Chesapeake College toenhance existing programs or offer new programs in the high-demand areas of Nursing, Allied Health, TeacherEducation, Criminal Justice, Business, and Social Work. The tables below depict these top growth occupations byeducational requirements (Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree).UPPER SHORE JOB OPENINGS 2002 – 2012 BY EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTSAs the College’s student body continues to grow in size and diversity, there will be greater demands placed onresources devoted to developmental education.
