We look a lot differentnow than we did back when we were a “Y without walls.”Offering hundreds of programs that reach everyonefrom tots to seniors, the JCC has become a vital asset tothe Jewish and broader community. The JCC is committed to offering the best in cultural, social, recreational, and educational activities for all ages. Our educational and arts programming, such as our Annual Jewish International FilmFestival sponsored by Rockland Toyota and our Cultural Arts Festival sponsored byMicki and Jim Leader, rank among the best in the region. We incorporate Jewish learningand living, identity and love of Israel into all that we do. At the same time we are open toall views and embrace diversity — recognizing that Jewish communities benefit, and benefitfrom, their larger communities — while staying true to our core mission. This spring we welcomed Eliza Millman, our new chief operating officer. Eliza brings skillshoned at JCC MetroWest in New Jersey, offering the promise of new ideas and a freshoutlook. We’re committed to bringing you the best in health, wellness and related offerings, and our fourth Women’s Health Symposium on October 24, in memory of Minna Josef, will build on our past success. We really have changed in 25 years, offering these programs we could only once haveimagined. As you look through this program guide and see events like the Koenig FamilyChanukah Concert, Chazen Jazz Concert and programming for all ages, you will see thatwe really play a vital role in the community. So just what do our second 25 years have in store? That depends on you. With yoursupport and help, the JCC can build on its past success as a “public square” for diverseJewish life in Rockland. Volunteer for a committee, suggest a program, pitch in and becommitted to making this place the best it can be. There are a variety of levels at which youcan belong and you can help make a difference. What’s important is that you belong. We are only limited by our imaginations as we headtoward the next 25 years.David Kirschtel, CEOSteve Rosenzweig, PresidentMISSION STATEMENTJCC Rockland is dedicated to theenrichment and continuity ofJewish life and to the preservationand celebration of our rich heritage. The center shall strengthen individualawareness and connection to theJewish community, the state of Israel, and the community at large throughrecreational, physical, educational, social, and cultural programs.DirectionsPIP to exit 8W, Route 59 W.
