Participants will benefit fromthis intensive review course, which focuseson principles <strong>of</strong> anesthesia learned throughstructured training, as well as discussion<strong>of</strong> the latest innovations and methods <strong>of</strong>anesthesia administration, monitoring,and emergency management. Participantswill also expand their knowledge <strong>of</strong> basicsciences, patient evaluation and preparation,anesthetic drugs and techniques, andemergency procedures to achieve betterpatient care. This course was developed bythe <strong>American</strong> <strong>Association</strong> <strong>of</strong> Oral and Maxill<strong>of</strong>acialSurgeons and is taught by AAOMSmembers and fellows.OBJECTIVESAt the conclusion <strong>of</strong> this presentation,participants should be able to:1. Describe the concepts <strong>of</strong> medicalevaluation <strong>of</strong> patients for anesthesia.2. Discuss the mechanical and pharmacologicalaspects <strong>of</strong> outpatient anesthesia.3.
