Box 586Green Valley, AZ 85614(520) 625-3440Welcome!On behalf of the Green Valley Recreation Board of Directors, Staff andmany, many volunteers, I am excited and happy to present the 2012 WinterClass Catalog.Once more, Green Valley Recreation (GVR) is providing one of the finestinstructional class offerings in Southern Arizona. GVR is also offering,trips, tours, and numerous special interest classes that will provideattendees with educational experiences, excitement and sometimes justplain fun. This year we are offering courses in so many areas, includingarts and crafts, cards, games, ceramics, clay, food and beverage, dance,health and fitness, lapidary, painting, drawing; and the list goes on and on.We have over 60 new classes offered for the Winter 2012 Session in avariety of subjects. Some of the new classes are “It’s Not a Sin to DrinkZin,” “ Harvesting, Juicing and Preparation of Prickly Pear Products,”“Keeping it Green with Your Microwave,” “A-Z Stretching,” “Masterthe Medical Care Maze – Own Your Health,” “Publish Your Book andPapers for Free at Amazon Kindle,” “Creating an Illustrated Journal,”“Combining Pen and Ink with Watercolor,” “A Chemist in the Kitchen,”“American Poets 1920 – 1970,” “Arizona’s Mammals,” “Genealogy Basics,”“The Best in Contemporary Fiction,” and “Women’s History Seminar.”This catalog lists all the classes, registration instructions, location, timesand other valuable information. Classes are very popular, and some fillvery quickly. The first day of registration is December 12, 2011 andcan be completed several ways. Registrations may be made on-line, inperson at one of the major social center offices, by mail or by telephone.However, mail and telephone registrations are not accepted until after thefirst day of class registration.We also are pleased to let everyone know, that you do not need to be amember to attend classes. Those who are not members are welcome toattend classes! Registration costs for non-members are slightly higher thanthat for members, but everyone is invited to take part in GVR’s classes andenjoy the experience.Green Valley Recreations also offers many other programs. Informationon these programs is contained in the latest copy of Keeping Current,which is published monthly and is available at all centers, as well as beingavailable on GVR’s website, www.gvrec.org. We have many programs,including concerts, free movies, lectures, special events and activitiesthat offer a variety of entertainment and fun. Please join us, and yourneighbors, at these events.The staff and volunteers at GVR continually strive to provide the best ineducation, entertainment and experiences for our members.
